I want to share my experience at Carmike Cinema-Park Place 16 . This theater is located directly across the street from another theater with a similar name. After searching for the movie I wanted to see online (and seeing that it was playing at "Park West" in Morrisville, I arrived at the theater and was told that they weren't playing that film. I stood there in confusion with three employees staring at me like I was crazy. I asked the employee why the movie would be listed as playing at 12:20 online when it wasn't actually playing at this location and she directed me to locations in Raleigh and Durham. I pulled up the listing on my phone and asked directly if there was another Park "something" in Morrisville, to which she replied, "I don't know, ma'am, I only work here". After ascertaining that I was in the wrong location (Park West is across the street), I asked why she, nor any of the other employees standing around, would not help a confused customer who was clearly looking to see a specific movie at a specific time at a specific theater. She told me shoud wouldn't help me give money to another theater...which is fair. However, she responded to my questions in such a condescending and nasty manner that I was almost dumbstruck. I couldn't believe she was speaking to me in front of other people that way. There were no other customers, only three employees standing around gawking at our exchange. I called the theater later and spoke to a manager and was again disappointed in the lackadaisical response. Cary/Morrisville/Apex is such a nice area, with no shortage of movie theaters. As the closest theater to my home Carmike is the one I'd visited most. I don't intend to return unless staff learn the meaning of customer service. I'm not a person who believes the customer is always right, but there is no excuse for the way I was spoken to today. I'd rather pay extra to people who seem to care about...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter over a year in isolation due to Covid, we decided to go to the movies to see Cruella at AMC Park Place 16. My wife and I purchased our tickets at a cost of over $20.00 for two. Though the theater was clean, the temperature in the room was warm, 10 minutes before the beginning of the previews, we asked that if the temperature could be lowered a few degrees. We were told it would be. It never happened. After 20 minutes of previews, we settled down to watch the movie which was very entertaining. About 35 minutes into the movie, the picture stopped but the sound kept going. After 5 minutes of no movie, we went to management. 15 minutes later, a staff member came in and told us the light to the projector had burnt out and gave us a pass to return. At first, the staff member only gave one pass per family, but we noted that the pass stated on it that it was valid for only one person. After reading the fine print, she apologized and gave us two passes. However, by that time, other customers who left before us, only received one pass per family not realizing that the pass was only valid for one person. Needless to say, we were very disappointed in the theater. Not only was it uncomfortable in terms of the temperature, but as customers we believe we should have been offered a refund for this movie. Frankly, we are not sure we will return to watch this same movie from the...
