Update 10/16/2019 Within an hour after the review below posted, Festival Corporate contacted me and apologized for the treatment I received and for the poor product. The employees involved and the department had been spoken to about this situation. I am impressed with Festival Foods Customer service. I did receive a refund for the cake and additionally, Festival Corporate mailed me $30.00 in gift cards. Thank you for handling this. I changed my Review from a 1 star to a 3 star
I am very dissatisfied with the cake and customer service that I received from the Festival Foods in Mt. Pleasant, WI. On Saturday October 5, 2019 I ordered a red velvet cake to be decorated with an athletic shoe in Sprint Wireless colors. The recipient is an employee of Sprint and collects unique athletic shoes. It was ordered for pickup on Monday October 7, 2019 at 5:00pm. I arrived at 5:30pm and was presented with the pictured cake. I am color blind but the shoe appears to be Green Bay Packers colors, green and gold. The two bakery workers assured me it was not. I took the cake to the cashier and asked her what colors they were and she said "That's a Green Bay Packers shoe! Cool!" I had to deliver in less than an hour, so I didn't have time to go back to the bakery and ask for a remake. At my Men's group, everyone thought that the "Green Bay Packers" shoe with the Sprint trim was a novel idea. But it still wasn't what I ordered. Then I cut the cake. Color was spot on. But a red velvet cake is supposed to taste like chocolate. The cake had no flavor at all. It was dry and the buttercream frosting was super sweet. The following day, October 8, 2019 I called Robin the Bakery Manager to express my issues. She was short, interrupting me before I could finish what I was saying. She stated that she was "In on the decorating of that cake and that shoe was black." By the tone in her voice I could tell that she was irritated. She bluntly asked what do you want me to to do for you? No apologies, no ownership of a poorly made cake. Denial that the color was wrong even when she was told others said it was green and gold. I was told to bring my receipt in for a refund. I had higher expectations of the...
Read moreThe new Festival Foods in Hales Corners Wisconsin on Highway a hundred have very wide aisles. Its grand opening so there are many special buys at this time. The store is very large similar to Woodman's. However throughout the store there is only one bench for people to sit at if they get tired. As stated it is a very large store!! They do have an area when you first walk in the store you can eat pre-made meals and rest. That's nice and it also has a TV for people who are waiting on other people to shop. The product lines are very unique and also offer preseasoned meats. Lots of gluten free offers with variety of brands. A whole section of Holistic Health Products. The best thing compared to all the other stores is they do not require you to have a card to get extra special values. This is wonderful for people who don't have time to go online and clipped coupons.
The shopping carts are wonderful there are smaller carts with three tiers and then there are the larger carts. They also have electronic scooters for those who have walking issues. At this point there is lots of staff and the lines move quickly. Every Clerk and stocking person we ran into took the time to ask if there's anything they could help us to find. Unlike other areas stores who seem to think we're the only game in town so we don't have to reach out to our consumer. Hopefully that will stay as the store continues to flourish. Festival also offer self checkout which is a nice option. They do have plastic bags that are thick and less apt to rip but also offer a very nice paper bag with handles similar to Trader Joe's. I would still say that the store is going to offer real competition to both Sendik's and Pick n Save. The store is open 24 hours. Is nice to say that even though the parking lot was packed you felt like you were in there alone and everyone was at your service. Unlike some of the other stores that are currently remodeling the lighting and this one is not blind you!! Well worth the trip to check it out and you may find this to be your new...
