My husband and I booked this venue for our ceremony and celebration this month (February 2023). It’s a beautiful building and great for no more than 60 guests unless it’s ceremony only then more is fine. We used them for our reception celebration as well with promise they were able to flip the venue within 30-40 minutes. Unfortunately their management was not professional. When we booked a year out, the events manager, CC, was helpful in the beginning but very busy so we did not have much communication, however she was very reassuring and accommodating when we did speak. Around a month prior to our wedding date, we received an email that staff changes would be occurring with no specifics or follow-up calls and no indication our venue contact would change. Two weeks prior to our date, I received a slightly unprofessional text from a new contact of I’on chapel that they needed to speak with us that day - no prior phone calls, no introductions prior to this. It was TWO WEEKS before my wedding day that I was contacted via text - not phone call. Unfortunately it wasn’t even initially to check in on our plans or to officially introduce themselves as our new contacts, rather, they were concerned that their previous employee would be our day of coordinator. To avoid the potential drama, we decided to go with I’on Chapel (Mikaela) for day of coordination. We met Mikaela and her assistant and we provided them extremely detailed information for our day and my wedding day binder as well as separated bags of decor with sticky notes for all items and a full layout of ceremony and reception plans. The manager, Mikaela, did not respond to my texts day of our wedding and we were not provided contact info for the assistant. I dropped all decor off and then got the assistant’s number directly. In the end, our ceremony was beautiful but the flip was chaotic and disorganized, the assistant was barely available so as the bride, I was inundated with questions and people following me around the whole evening, reception decor was incomplete, charcuterie boards were never changed out, bottled cokes for our pizza delivery never set out, dessert wasn’t even out - my mom and I (bride) had to put it out or that too wouldn’t have been provided to our guests. My family offered to help with the flip to make it quicker but the assistant assured us she had a team coming however that obviously didn’t work out. We came home with decor and favors never used and my vision for my wedding celebration never came to fruition. Our parents noted the disorganization and how flustered/unavailable the assistant was all night - rarely seen. And if it weren’t for our great DJ, bartender and magic mirror vendors it would have been disastrous. I rarely write reviews but the wedding day is important so I hope this helps others make up their mind. If you choose I’on Chapel- do not go near their coordination offer (we deeply regret not going with one of our other two coordinator options) and find another location for your reception/celebration. Ceremony only went well because it’s a naturally beautiful venue and candles and chairs can’t go wrong! We are still waiting to hear back from the manager regarding this outcome. Three stars because the venue itself is lovely - management is an extremely important aspect of a successful wedding day and I’on just...
Read moreLast fall, I attended a series of lectures related to the founding and development of I'On and other similar neighborhoods in our country. The lectures were held at the Meeting House in I'On Square. For me, this was an easy walk from my home. The setting was warm and comfortable and very conducive to listeing to the speakers and seeing their visuals as well as participating in the Q and A sessions that followed. Each occasion felt a bit like sitting in a large living room for the shared learning experience, which was certainly preferable to the institutional feel of a traditional classroom or office conference space.
For over a year, I have been involved with a group of neighbors that is planning I'On At Home, which will be an aging in place/Village organization for the neighborhood. We are holding a community educational meeting later in February, and the Meeting House will be the venue. The setting is perfect for our program that will include speakers, a video, a Power Point presentation, and discussion among those present. We look forward to this event and are grateful for the interest of the Meeting House in supporting this new...
Read moreSadly, my fiance and I had to cancel our wedding due to the entire COVID 19 Pandemic. Our reception venue had to cancel on us as they could not abide by the social distancing ordinance for our 25 guests. At this time, we can not reschedule as we are still currently living in a situation of uncertainty, and do not wish to put any of our guests at risk health wise. We provided more than a months notice prior to our cancellation. In light of the current extenuating circumstances, a full refund of our deposit would have been the right thing to do. Instead, our $500.00 deposit was kept. We have since followed up regarding the refundable $150.00 for cleaning expenses. Obviously, with no venue taking place, there was no clean-up. There has been no response from either Pam, or the owner of Ten Thousand Years, LLC. We are already deeply saddened by the fact that we had to cancel our wedding. Making no concessions, in light of the Pandemic, seems unjust. I would not ever recommend this venue...
