Sylvan Park — Attraction in Mountain View

CALL FOR OFFLEASH DOG REGULATIONS!

This is a public park that allows dog walkers to walk their dogs with leashes on, not off, and I am very disappointed that many don’t respect the rule and let their dogs run around and rush at random pedestrians.

I met a weird guy with dyed hair letting his bulldog run around and jump onto people and laughing if off. The bulldog is known to have lethal bites and I got scared. I asked him to leash the dog, he insisted it’s a offleash zone and called me weird even if I showed him the Mountain View city council website that literally says this park is not part of the allowlist.

He said: “if you are scared, don’t come here.” Like seriously? Countless kids and adults played and strolled here every day and I am sure many of us are scared of bulldogs coming at us. Why do dog walkers feel entitled that human beings have less of right than their pets?

I will call animal control next time but I feel like regulations must be practiced and enforced(I am calling for penalties and fines!) so that dog walkers realize that they have...

Love coming here with my family to play tennis. There are four nice tennis courts. It is not usually super crowded, but on weekend afternoons you may have to wait for a court to free up. That said, the rules are mostly followed and folks don't take over a court for longer than an hour if others are waiting.

The park also has grills. I smell delicious meat often when playing, which is an extra challenge to push through during training. Also, there is a children's play area and an area with pull-up bars, etc. for those looking...

A very good park to bring your kids .. penty of play equipment for the kids to play on.. lots of swings and jungle Jim's and very clean sand thats very deep for trucks and other toys.. so deep that you can lose your toys if not careful .. all the kids and parents play well together and parents watching all the kids playing .. you can have a great picnic lunch sit and talk while the kids burn some energy off .. we will be coming back again .. also they have restrooms a big plus...
