Another WoW! This place truly deserves the stand up among all others as they do on their rating here at Google Maps! Tell me; how many places actually manages to serve you “truly smart water?” Well this place does what other places fail to do so!… Their water taste really good and on top they added a thin slice of lemon into your water cup. I am a very picky person when it comes to the “taste of my water in a restaurant” because if the water doesn’t taste good; meaning the broth you are drinking is also not good! I literally walked out in the past of a Pho restaurant because the broth smelled like “chlorine”!… And without a doubt if the case would repeat itself; I will do it again! Water is the main ingredient a restaurant uses to wash food, to use in the broth, to serve to drink. Better pay attention to it wherever you go!… Anyways back to the topic; on the suggestion of one of the reviews I ordered the Spicy Lemongrass Beef”… and yes it was delicious!… Used up all the vegetables that comes with it including the delicious sauce it comes on the side. Do not be lazy from taking the extra distance to drive when you craving a...
Read moreGreat addition to the plaza housing Nijiya Market. Previously housed a boba place that sold some Vietnamese inspired snacks but now is remodeled into a full service restaurant with a menu focusing on pho as well as other soup noodle dishes included Bun Bo Hue and Hu Tieu.
I wanted to sample a pho order for my pho quest but was intrigued by the Hu Tieu Nam Vang as there are almost no places that serve that dish on the Peninsula.
A simple dry version came a few minutes later with a solid list of quality ingredients including quail egg, cooked shrimp, delicious pork slices and a tasty Nam Vang sauce. I mixed thoroughly with the accompanying bean sprouts and cilantro and added the broth.
Reminded me of a home cooked version with great flavors and a definite plus for the Peninsula. You’ll have to go to Little Saigon for versions to match.
📷 Hu Tieu Nam Vang (dry) ~ $17.95
On Wednesday, they serve Hainan chicken rice as a special. I’ll be back to try that and one of their pho for my Bay Area Pho quest.
Seating is indoor only and walk-ins are welcome. All credit cards including AmEx...
Read morePho Anh is a great addition to the MV Shopping Center plaza. At first impression, the entrance seems lowkey, but inside the interior is bright, clean, and spacious--it reminded me of a boba spot. There were quite a few parties already seated on a Saturday at 6:30pm.
Menu has quite a few classic items, from pho to rice plates to vermicelli. I ended up ordering the Grilled Shrimp Beef Eggroll Over Vermicelli (V2). For the value, the portion is standard, ingredients are fresh, and the beef is packed with flavor. My partner enjoyed the Rare Steak/Flank/Brisket/Tendon/Tripe (P5) with its flavorful broth and impressive portion size.
Random things unique to this experience: I asked for peanuts to be removed, but they were still included (albeit on the side). Interestingly, the eggroll also came separately after the dish was served. Overall, I'd still return to try more menu items since the location is...
