Good stock, some prices are really reaching these days but you might still find some nice deals. On my last visit I asked a employee about a prominent manufactures line that they did carry, and they currently even have a creditable in store stock of. He asked me to wait and he'd look up the products and their availability, after he concluded his random conversation with a customer that cut in front of me, and another unrelated conversation with another employee, he finally took the time to inform me he was unfamiliar with the products I was looking for (their's products from the manufacturer literally RIGHT in front of him on the display rack ALL day long). Lol why would you even waste my time if you have no idea what you're doing in the first place? Anyway this guy finally managed to get himself together enough to do a search, the items retail at ruffly $30 a pop, 4 piece set, and you can easily get the whole set online for $100 or less. This funny little fella tells me it's going to cost me $300, I have to buy the whole set, they can't break it up, and acted surprised when I laughed in his face. I try to support independent stores whenever I can, but this joker has put me off from continuing contributing to this small business anymore. Product knowledge and customer service are key in sales. Even if your selling comic books, toys, board games, you should respect your inventory, employment position, and the opportunity provided by the employer or just be excused from...
Read moreProblem #1: My father and I had roughly 40 golden/silver age comics that were supposed to go to the owner of the store to offer us a price for the collection. 9 days went by with no answer. We decided to re visit the store and inquire about our comics. Result? They never left the store. They were actually in the same spot I saw the employee put them in 9 days prior.
Problem #2: My father wanted to get plastic coverings and book boards for the above mentioned comics. He told me he dealt with the same employee who knew exactly what comic books we had. When he came home, both the coverings and back boards were too small for our comics?
I'm sorry but this store is extremely unprofessional and unorganized, I really don't understand the glowing reviews. I understand having a passion/hobby for a job, but please try to remember it's still a job. As we speak my father is driving all the way back to the store in hopes to exchange them for the proper sized ones. If not, we're out roughly $20.00 of something we have no use for..
I wasn't planning on writing a review over the first incident, but the second incident drew the line. I mean I remember the day we brought the comics in and the employee pulled out a back board and plastic cover to protect one of the more expensive comics we had without hesitation. How do you even mess things...
Read moreIt’s big and they have a lot of merchandise. I went to their location today to find a newer book. They did not have it. It’s cool, things sell out. However, no one greeted me. I had to find someone to ask for my desired book. The gentleman I found was awkward and weird and kept talking over me. (The more y think about it - he may not even have worked there because I saw no lanyard). I browsed some more and it took me near the counter. There were 3 employees behind counter and one in front. None of them acknowledged me. Two of people behind counter were engaged in their own conversation. The other was looking at his phone. The guy in front of counter was directly in my path and he couldn’t even be bothered to look up. I even lingered there to see if I could get acknowledgment and nothing. Customer service has always been an issue at NDC (one of the reasons I stopped going years back). Save yr money for an independent comic shop where you are treated with respect. I’d suggest the Phantom...
