Grooming⦠I have rescues. I have always had a great experience with this store grooming my dogs, until this week. When they went to take my big guy back, he laid down and didnāt want to go through the swinging door. I found this odd as ever since his 2nd time with them, he would go through the door and immediately jump up on the first grooming table, like he was saying āIām ready!ā This time, I had a 6mo puppy with us for his first haircut, with them. The lady doing the paperwork was āsnappyā and offensive. With a smart attitude, she said the puppy wouldnāt be getting a full haircut, that he would only be receiving a bath and trim IF he let her. Iām talking about a puppy that loves water, loves attention and has no fear. Paperwork is finished, puppy goes to the back with āsnappyā girl and the girl that I really like working with my dogs. 4.5 hours later, Iām back in the department to see what is going on and why I havenāt been called for pickup. A different āsnappyā girl is at the front and responds by saying she probably called the wrong number. I asked for my checkout papers, went and paid, went back in the salon and they still didnāt have either ready to go. āSnappy #2ā went and got my big dog and said sheād be right back with the puppy. She wasnāt. It was several minutes. I asked for the groomer, hoping it was the girl that I always choose and (I wanted to know how the puppy did). Groomer never came out. āSnappy #2ā did come back and said the puppy needs some work but thinks itāll be ok with experience. I left. Did he get a haircut? No. Did he at least get a good trim? No! Not at all! For $50, he got the bottom of his feet (pads) were shaved and he had a bath. The puppy has been severely hand shy since I picked them up. He doesnāt want me to touch his feet, his face, really doesnāt want to be touched anywhere. If heās laying on the couch and reach over to rub him, he jumps. Iām not making accusations about what went on there with him but I can tell you, he is not the same as when I took him for his appointment. It really makes me wonder if something has been going on and thatās why the big dog laid down tight to the floor instead of being the normal, jolly dog ready for spa day. And now the puppy is scared of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDrove 1 hours each way to shop at Petsmart in Nagshead, NC, in order to discuss different types of dog food for my older dog. I had already read a lot on the internet but I wanted to talk to someone who deals with dogs and dog food regularly. First associate told me the woman who usually gives this advice was not working today, so she went to ask the manager, Adam. She came back and reported that Adam said I needed to go to my vet as they cannot make recommendations if my dog has pancreatitis. I had mentioned my dog having pancreatitis 5 years ago, and told the young woman (again) that he is not sick now. I asked if someone could just explain to me which kinds of food are designed for older dogs or dogs with sensitive stomachs. She said no. I asked if she could show me any high protein dog foods and she said I just I should just look around. I asked if they have a specific brand I read about in stock and she said yes, it is somewhere on aisles 12-16. After spending a good while reading labels and making my selections with no help whatsoever, I decided that I should explain to Adam that I had driven a long way for service and that I would never be back again. Without any service, I would just order online. It was hard to get Adamās attention as he was stocking shelves with his earphone on. He kept interrupting me as I tried to explain my poor experience. He told me that it is store policy not to give advice for dog food for pancreatitis. I told him my dog doesnāt have pancreatitis, and that I made that clear. Adam said he didnāt know that. I asked why he didnāt come talk to me to find out and practically growled, āI didnāt have to give you any answer at all because it was my lunch break.ā I was clearly still shopping after his lunch break, and not one person in the store offered any assistance. I asked Adam his last name, and he said, āMy name is Adam.ā I asked Adam, how in the world did you ever get to be a manager? I believe his negative customer attitude caused the young woman who had been willing to help to suddenly become so unhelpful. I saw her going out of her way to help another customer when I first came in, but he somehow convinced her it was against store policy to give me any...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve taken my dog here 3 times for grooming, the first two times were great, sheās a Standard poodle and I like an all over even clean cut on her. This most recent visit I asked for the same thing and I got a weird Afro thing and thereās random spots all over her body that were missed where thereās long strands. My dog has always been very calm and good at the groomer Iāve always been told sheās very well behaved, so I donāt see a reason there would be missed spots aside from the groomer rushing. Additionally my dogs bum and ears have been very sensitive since the grooming. Her ears I noticed were still wet inside and had not been cleaned (it specifically lists ear cleaning as part of the grooming) and her bum is irritated probably once again from a rushed grooming and the blades on the clipper being too dull or too hot. This is the first bad experience Iāve had with these groomers and unfortunately I was unable to book Katie K who did the previous groom that was a great job! So I booked with Kathryn M, the last 2 good experiences are the only reason Iām not...
