Discount Mattress — Attraction in Naperville

Bought a king size mattress from this store after checking out the mattress from the top and sides and I was told the mattress was in like new condition just like most of their stock. Graham charged me $40 to deliver the mattress as I live a bit far according to him (a 40 minute drive from the store). I happily paid for the delivery and promptly received the mattress the next day. When they came to deliver the mattress I did inspect it briefly but did not suspect anything as I was told it was in a like new condition. The next day when my wife and I were moving the mattress still in its cover, we noticed a big tear on the bottom. I called the store and was told they would swap it out for me when they are in the area. A couple of days later I called to get an update and suddenly I am told it is my fault that I did not inspect the mattress and I will have to pay another $100 to get it swapped. "You didn't do a good job of inspecting it" is what I was told. My fault was that I trusted someone at the store when they said there was nothing wrong with the mattress. Avoid this place if you can and if you still want to buy a mattress from them, make sure you inspect it thoroughly when you receive it without caring for the delivery guys' time. Also note that not all of their mattresses are brand new so if you are getting a good deal, there is a reason for it. Edit after Graham's response to my review: so basically he will tell you whatever and sell you whatever. It is your responsibility to make sure you don't trust a word of his and check everything at store and at home. I thought I was being nice by not asking him to flip the mattress at the store but apparently being nice is my fault. Well, I learned my lesson. I uploaded a second picture that shows this mattress was used, sanitized, and is not being sold a second time. He did not mention anything of this sort at the store. Purchased a mattress over the phone with this company last week. Was told they would be delivering my mattress on Friday and that someone would give me a call. After following up with them several times asking when it would be delivered I kept getting the runaround. Called back on Saturday and was then told that the mattress I ordered was no longer available because it was given to someone else and that they couldn't deliver mine until they got a new shipment "sometime between Tuesday and Thursday next week". After reading the previous reviews others have recently posted about this place who knows if I will ever receive my mattress at all or if it will actually be the one I ordered online. I will update this next week if I actually receive, if not I will be getting a refund one way or another(good thing I Paid with a credit card instead of cash).

Update 3/23/16 - Not sure if they saw the review I had just posted and decided to nip this in the bud in order to save face or not, but never the less I finally got a call from the store yesterday and was told that my mattress would be delivered today between 4-6pm. The delivery driver followed up with me a couple times to let me know when they would be arriving and I finally received the mattress. Surprisingly enough it's a great quality mattress and is exactly what I was expecting. Very accurate to the ad that was posted on craigslist. I have now changed the rating to a 4 instead of a 1, but I cannot honestly give them a 5 star rating due to all the hassle they caused in getting my mattress delivered and making endless phone calls to the store every day. As a person with severe spinal issues, my husband and I decided to start shopping for a new mattress and adjustable frames. After shopping several big box furniture and chain mattress stores we were feeling overwhelmed and in total price shock after receiving quotes between $10,000 to $13,000!! The final stop on my list of stores was Discount Mattress in Naperville IL. Unlike all the other stores resulting from my online search, we had never heard of this store. I am so happy that we stopped in, just wish we had done so first!

What we found was a large store full of a variety of mattresses. The same familiar name brands we knew so well and some we hadn’t heard of, all at much lower prices than the other stores we had visited.

Brian greeted us and patiently listened as we explained our needs. He asked some additional questions and then showed us three or four different mattresses. He provided the manufacturing and design details for each one and explained why he was recommending it and then left the area so we could check each out. As we did, additional questions would come to mind and Brian would come back over to answer our questions and then leave us again so that we could discuss privately and without feeling pressured. Additionally our mattresses and adjustable bases were delivered and set up just as promised.
