Very disappointed with the quality of the food. I was hoping to like the restaurant, as they have a nice assortment to choose from on their menu. Initially, I thought I was in for a good beginning as I was greeted and welcomed by a lovely hostesses, who introduced herself & greeted me with a warm welcome. Then it all went downhill from there.I asked my server for some of his favorite recommendations and he highly 3 or 4 of his favorites, one being the Entrouge burger.I specifically asked him if it was char grilled or cooked on a flat top. He assured me they char grill them, which is why I ordered the burger. I also, requested the accoutrements ( lettuce, tomato & onion be served on the side).I ordered the burger med- rare. When it was served it came saturated with butter/ oil on the brichoe bun was barely toasted, & was overcooked to medium to medium well. When my server finally came over to check on me. I informed him bun was cooked in gobs of butter or oil. He proceeded to let me know, they were remaking it for me. He then came back with a dry bun, again not heated or toasted. When , I pointed that out, he seemed to disagree with me, plus the fact they did not remake the burger. I then asked to speak to the manager. I told him the burger was not done as a char grilled as server told me. He also agreed that the temperature was not done as medium rare. At that point, I said I’m going to give up on the burger & order something else. I choose the Ruben sandwich. Once again, extremely disappointed . Anyone that knows that sandwich, knows it’s has 3 crucial ingredient. Corn beef, which was rather dry, melted Swiss ,there was not even a half of a slice on the sandwich and last sour kraut. The was less than a scant teaspoon of kraut in the sandwich. Last, the fries probably would of been great if the were fried properly. They were mushy and not crispy whatsoever. Last, service was less than stellar. I had to constantly wait for my water glass to be refilled.I came in right when they opened, so it was not busy at all. No excuse for...
Read moreOverall, the food was delicious, but there were a few things that could be improved. The cocktail glass chosen for the espresso martini was very small, and when we ordered a different cocktail, it came in an oversized glass, almost like a vase, with a very small amount. The glassware selection for drinks was generally not ideal.
As for the service, we arrived on time for our 4:30 reservation but had to wait about 15 minutes for our table. Once seated, we waited another 15 minutes to place our order. The service started off polite but quickly turned rude, and by the end of the meal, the staff left the bill on our table without asking. Additionally, the waiter moved our table without warning, which was uncomfortable.
I hope this feedback helps to improve the overall experience.
Edited after restaurant’s reply:
Thank you for your response, but I must clarify a few points to ensure accuracy. Regarding our arrival time, two members of our party were present before 4:30, and the remaining two arrived only a few minutes late, likely around 4:35. Even then, we were not seated immediately and had to wait at least another 5 minutes, so the claim that we were seated at 4:36 is inaccurate.
Additionally, while our server was polite and helpful, particularly with wine recommendations, our order was not taken until close to 5:00. Later in the evening, it became apparent that the table was needed for the next reservation. While I completely understand the need to manage time and space, we felt rushed. Another thing, the way our table was abruptly shifted by 7-10 inches, without prior warning, was uncomfortable. It caused our plates and glasses to move significantly, and we had to adjust our chairs to avoid being too close to the neighboring table. I even felt compelled to greet the other guests since we were suddenly so near.
Finally, the check was left on our table before we had even finished eating, which further contributed to the rushed feeling. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving the overall dining experience for...
Read moreWe decided to come here after reading positive reviews. It’s located in the old Baker’s Square building that’s close to Vai. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and sophisticated looking. Service was… well it needs improvement. Unfortunately, I’ll have to knock off 2 stars because it was so bad. Btw we came here for lunch on 12/17/23 around 12 pm. Our server said he’ll bring us some focaccia bread. We got the appetizer but no bread. Our server forgot the bread and we had to remind him. He brings us our entrees and then the bread after that. Really bad timing. To top it off, he also puts down the dessert menu right when we got our entrees. Yeah, so rule of thumb, it should go like this: bring bread then appetizer, entrees, dessert menu. Dessert menu should be after we finished our entrees. It seemed like his first day serving ever. Food however was phenomenal. Food portions are ginormous. Prices are moderate to pricey.
-sweet chili calamari 5/5 - calamari nicely cooked, definitely has that sweet taste but with a subtle kick to it. Mild spicy. -crispy hot chicken and waffles 5/5 - chicken tenders soft to cut and chicken is moist. Belgian waffle flavorful especially with that maple syrup drizzled onto it. Candied bacon was a nice addition. Not too sweet. -lobster and avocado omelet 5/5 - nice big pieces of lobster with the omelet. Avocado very fresh. -chicken piccata 5/5 - chicken very tender and well seasoned with the sauce. -dry-aged wagyu bolognese 5/5 - sauce very creamy and noodles were tender. Little chew. -rosemary focaccia bread 5/5 - crispy and seasoned. Butter was hard since it just came out of the fridge. -banana cream pie 5/5 - just might be the best banana cream pie I’ve had. Not sweet. That custard gave the pie a creamy texture with the crunchy graham...
