So tonight my younger brother and at least 8 buddies in his group were profiled and discriminated against tonight at the Pheasant Lane Mall in NASHUA, NH!!!
They were celebrating one of the guysâ birthday and went in the Target store to make purchases. They had already bought their items when they were approached by one of the employees and told that they were âtrashingâ the store and needed to settled down. Although they said they were only laughing and playing around their little group they were kicked out of the store! One of my brotherâs friends was very upset and was going to return his item out of pure disgust, BUT WASNâT ALLOWED TO!!
Halfway through the mall (far out of the Target store) the group was approached by two security guards who referenced one of the guys as âAfro boy/Afro kidâ and cursed at the group.
I know teenage kids do stuff and can get pretty rowdy. But I know my brother. And if he or any of his friends was wrong then wrong is wrong. Idc who you are. And the same goes for myself. But I also know he doesnât bother anybody in OR out of school bc we were raised with home training. You donât go out in public acting ruthless and disrespectful. He hangs with a crowd he identifies with. Pretty down to earth, laid back boys despite their sizes. The boys are mostly tall and broad.
I donât like pulling the race card, because that is not always the case. In fact the race card is the last thing I pull. I DO believe, however, this group was profiled and was disrespected on a character level. I also believe they were blamed for something that someone else in the store was doing. And I DO believe the tapes should be reviewed and that someone...
Read moreThis is not for the mall itself, itâs an amazing mall. Iâve been going here for more than 10 years and itâs great. Different variety of stores to fill your interest but there was one I was really disappointed in.
Glamour, you always have two people handing out skincare samples out and all they do is insult you if you donât purchase something and waste your time by forcefully bringing you in to demo a product. Lady gave me in a sample and we tested it. She started off sweet but then after she pulled out two boxes telling me the prices and asked me what I was interested in. First of all she told me she had something for me to bring back since I wasnât from NH. In my mind I thought she had something more samples so that was my misunderstanding. $400 for two sets and â%50 offâ for one. I just came out of miniso because I bought stuff for myself and my family so I explained to her I wasnât interested solely because I had no money left to spend.
She then rudely moved the items away and told me to have a good day and I apologized but right after she said âyou spend your money on all of that stuff but not your faceâ which was literally disgusting and these people really donât understand why they donât get any sales. They use their âsales tacticsâ to outright insult your appearance and Iâm someone who is already struggling with self image. They stick your nose about what you should spend your money on.
Never ever waste your time by glamour these people come across sweet at first but thatâs how they lure you in. If not interested in their products they switch up and become absolutely rude...
Read moreI already sent some feedback to the mall directly but I haven't gotten a response, so I figured I'd add a review. The new seating downstairs is really nice, but the complete lack of seating upstairs, not even simple wooden benches, is super inconvenient. What are people supposed to do who have mobility issues, are elderly or expectant mothers, or who just need a rest? Go all the way downstairs?
I had gone upstairs to make use of the nursing rooms (which is nice that they have them, but they aren't listed on the directory so I never knew they were there until I went to one of the family bathrooms to change my son) and both were occupied, so I looked for somewhere to sit upstairs for a few minutes to nurse my baby under a nursing cover instead. I had him in a stroller, and had just come upstairs through one of the anchor stores because the central elevator was out of order, so I didn't want to go all the way back to a store and downstairs to search for a seat. I had no choice, though, because the only place I could've sat upstairs was on the floor. I find that rather ridiculous. A few simple wooden benches (which I swear this mall used to have) on the second floor would fit into the floorspace and not cost as much as the cushier chairs downstairs.
Otherwise, I'm happy to see the mall thriving. It's obvious they're taking steps to weather the changing consumer market that has caused the decay of a lot of other malls. I enjoyed shopping and...
