I had a fantastic experience. I went to Basic Kneads because I had intense shoulder, neck, and back pain that stemmed from bad muscle spasms when I was sick with mono, making it feel like my arms were being pulled out on a constant basis. The doctor gave me Vicatin and I could barely make it until it was time to take the next pill. After my first massage with Rob Garner, the pain decreased tremendously! I went off the Vicitin and just began taking Advil every 8 hours. My arms, which had previously been going numb because of the muscle knots pushing on my nerves, started to regain feeling and strength. After the second hour massage of area specific work, I now have full range of motion in both my arms and I'm no longer taking anything to manage the pain and inflammation, because I have none! Additionally, Rob didn't just know how to make the massage feel good, he really knew the biology: where the nerves run, how the vertebrae are connected to the muscles and how everything connects.
My experience was very enjoyable! From the moment you walk in the door, you feel more relaxed. It's a calming, professional, and comforting environment. The massage rooms are decorated very nicely with artwork, lights that dim, and soft, relaxing music. The massage tables have heating pads if you choose and there's a sheet as well as a blanket. The massage therapist was sure to make sure I was comfortable temperature wise and followed my lead as to how conversational or not I wanted to be. One thing I've never seen before, which I loved, was the hot towel they leave for you at the end of the massage, so you can wipe off if you choose. Everyone who works there is very friendly! I definitely recommend Basic Kneads and I know I'll...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE Basic Kneads! Literally have had an amazing massage every time I go! They are so professional yet personable at the same time and the atmosphere inside is intentionally peaceful and very powerful in its purpose.
Janet is incredible, gives amazing deep concentrated massage that has left me laughing in euphoria as I left the table! She released a lock in my back no one has been able to completely get rid of in years! Joe is also wonderful, I had the best deep tissue that I scheduled very last minute and he was able to accommodate me quickly. I left ready to take on the world!
Recently I had the pleasure of getting a full body 90 minute massage with Raven who is newer to Basic Kneads but she fits right in! Her energy is full of light, joy and encouragement as she released deep stored tension from trauma I recently went through. I was able to have the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders and the stiffness in my neck and jaw due to clenching and bracing from stress removed completely! She gave me tips and tricks for lymphatic drainage, cupping, gua sha, etc to keep taking good care of myself at home. I walked out feeling like things were going to be ok in the midst of very daunting circumstances.
Go to Basic Kneads, they’re not so basic at all!! They’re pretty incredibly talented and trained individuals and make a wonderful team of massage professionals! You won’t be...
Read moreI am beyond disappointed with, and embarrassed for this establishment--especially given the rave reviews it has. I wanted to surprise my husband with a 60-minute massage after he has been taking care of me day-in and day-out for the past 8 months through an ongoing medical crisis. He happens to be blind, and therefore requires that the therapist direct him into the massage rooms. I made sure the front desk was aware of this prior to scheduling, at which point I was kept on hold while my husband's needs were discussed with the manager. We have booked countless massages with other local businesses & never once has this been an issue. The front desk associate returned to the line stating they didn't have the proper insurance for "such a liability" and he would need to have someone else either accompany him there OR BE PAID to walk with him & direct him before and after the appointment. Are you kidding me? Spend some time, money and additional resources on bringing yourselves clear into the 21st century with the rest of us, Basic Kneads. You should be ashamed of yourselves. But that's okay-Massage Envy in Bellevue actually has a massage therapist who happens to be blind (how bold and risky of them, right?!) Needless to say, they got...
