Let me start this not so positive review by saying that this salon is modern and beautiful. It has great products, reclining shampoo chairs and the staff is attentive. Plus it's a far more convenient location than downtown or East Nashville. I booked with the stylist Amber based on her supposed tier of "expertise" and from photos of her work I saw on the salon's social media pages. I'd actually been here before about 10 years ago and had a pleasant experience with Breon herself. I did remember from talking to her during my appointment she stressed the importance of her employees staying up to date with training & trends and I genuinely believe that. However, this stylist turned out to be quite a disappointment for me. And I'm out quite a bit of $$.
I went in with nearly 100% natural hair for a balayage highlight and cut. I showed her a very clear picture of what I was wanting to achieve and told her if it wasn't attainable for me to at least get me as close to the image as possible. She said yes it would work... then proceeded with a consultation that really just confused me. While some of the questions were certainly necessary, I don't do hair so I was pretty clueless and that may well have confused her ....which is why my hair is not what I wanted(?). But seriously, I presented a clear image and said "I love everything about this hair, get me as close to this as possible!" - what more is there to say? I was hoping she would be more assertive and offer her input since again, while I did know what I had in mind, I don't do hair and I'm not artistic. Part of a stylist's job is making a client razzle dazzle, ya know??
Charged $35.00 for a toner that I didn't legit need & I don't know if it really is good for my skin (but yeah, I said I preferred warm blonde), but it'll wash out. For the record - I have never been changed at any other salon for a toner with a highlighting service and I've been around. The $50 haircut was worth about $10.00 - seriously, took about 5 minutes to simply snip off the ends. So, after spending 2 hours and $210 not counting tips there on a Friday, I left with hair that really isn't what I really wanted. But hey, at least it's not fried!!
Breon salon does have a satisfaction policy as long as you notify them within 5 days... but it has to be same stylist who corrects it and I don't know if I trust going down that rabbit hole, been there before. Honestly - if she couldn't get it right the first time (& on virgin hair), would you really want to give her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time visiting this salon. I was excited to get a cut and highlight. My hair needed several inches cutā¦.The hairdresser I saw was Chloe. She was so very kind. She did a great job with the cut and highlight. [important note: it cost me $254 + a $37.95 tipāIāve never spent that much money on ME at any time in my life and never will again]. When I left the salon, my hair had a LOT of product in it. Fast forward 2 days later and I washed my hair. Still loving the color and cut but it was a little bit longer than I was asking for. Maybe at least an inch too long. So, I called Breonās and spoke with Kim that answered the phone. I explained to her my situation and she told me that she could set an appointment but it āmayā cost. I said, āno, no, no, I just paid almost $300 damn dollars and Iām not paying more.ā She then accused me of swearing at her. I told her that I was not swearing at her and then she got more defensive. So I hung up and then I called right back and she let it go to voicemail. I left a voicemail saying that I would like for Breon or Chloe to call me back, and I left my name and number. Fast-forward two days and a man calls me and ask how he can help. When I told him what happened, he then accused me of swearing at his receptionist and hanging up on her. Again taken out of context. Then he went on to say lots of people leave and want something different than what was given to them. And I told him I didnāt want anything different and that I thought Chloe did a great job only that I needed maybe an inch or more taken off, it was still too long. He was extremely rude. I asked when Chloe would be in so I could speak to her about it, but he refused to tell me. He then told me that he was Breonās husband and and he was the one that I was going to talk to. So I told him to forget about it and to cancel my May 2 appointment that I had pre-scheduled and then he hung up on me! Who does that????? I definitely will not be going back there. I have never in my lifetime heard of a salon getting so angry when someone calls back to question anything. My fix could have been very simple. Maybe 10 minutes 15 minutes to fix it. But they made it into something that it should never have been. And they couldāve had a repeat customer but the actions of the husband and the receptionist will make me never go back, and Iāll make sure to tell all of my friends that if theyāre looking for a salon to go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI learned about Breon Hair Salon through my boss when I first moved to Nashville almost 8 years ago. My boss had been a faithful customer since he had moved to town a few years before that and always had great things to say about Breon and her staff, so I thought I'd give them a try. I have not let any other salon touch my hair since the day I walked through their door almost 8 years ago. Breon and her team have taken care of my hair, colored it many different colors, cut and styled it many different ways, and their customer service has never faltered.
What I love most about this salon is that they take the time to get to know their customers and always greet you by name as you walk in. You're always offered something to drink, you always get a relaxing scalp massage when you get shampooed, and Breon makes sure every stylist on her team is up-to-date with their certifications and educated with the latest trends in cuts and colors. Each stylist takes time to get to know your head of hair, your likes and dislikes, etc. and is open to discussion on what you want to accomplish that day. I've been using Rachel now for as long as she's been on staff (maybe 2 years now?) and I absolutely adore her. She's always very precise and thorough, is always open to new ideas, and makes me look and feel like a rock star by the time I get out of her chair. She can tell when I'm pleased and when I am not so keen on something (which is rare, because she pretty much always gets it right).
I can't tell you how many times I get complimented on my hair cut, style, and/or color almost on a daily basis...even if I haven't had an appointment in several weeks. It's all thanks to Rachel and the hard-working, AMAZING team at Breon Hair Salon. I can't wait for my next appointment and if you give them a try, you'll be saying...
