Came here in a carpool with my organ teacher and 3 other people. I had fun for 2 hours nonstop, from wading in the water and screaming each time, depending on how high the waves get (I judged the waves based on their height), with the highest waves getting my clothes wet to drawing in the sand, letting the waves destroy my drawings (with buddies) to getting lost at the end (even though that is normally a bad position to be in, I actually liked it this time because there was 1 last time when I got to wade in the water, with another buddy (I asked if there would be possible help, and he said the lifeguards might possibly pack up soon, but I still told him what my group of people and supplies looked like, just in case he could help me find them). But the search was not over yet. I walked around the beach all by myself to try and find them, and I did not find them for about 2 or 3 minutes, making me lost for a minimum of 7 or 8 minutes at the beach. (It's easy to get lost...

Also in the last couple of years they got rid of the changing rooms and have signs in the bathrooms about not changing (understandably so that people can use the bathroom) but they occasionally have a woman begin telling our banging on stalls where she suspects people are changing. We asked a life guard where we could change and he said we could ask at the end of the pier for a key to the changing room, but when we requested that changing room, she said that there were no changing rooms. Where are we supposed to change? At home. We live 3 hours from the beach. We would also like to go out to dinner before we head home. How hard would it be to put up temporary changing rooms during the summer? This is a huge inconvenience. Please please consider some sort of changing room for...
Read moreLoved it! Beaches in the northeast aren't my favorite, but our experience here was great. I much prefer it over any Long Island beaches I've been to. Great family feel. Everyone was very respectful and courteous, even the kiddos. We later found out this stretch of the Jersey Shore has strong Christian influences. No debris or brown in the water. Clean sand. Alcohol isn't openly allowed on the beach, but there are restaurants along the boardwalk with great drinks. Ocean Grove also has a huge concentration of Victorian homes which are fun to see! $8 fee per person to access beach. There are very clean restrooms available at the Dunes...
