A Reimagined ClassicâOdyssey Coffeeâs New Chapter
Odyssey Coffee has always been a cornerstone of the community, and its reopening in a reimagined space only deepens its role as a gathering place for creatives, neighbors, and coffee lovers alike. Housed in what was once a grand old bank, the cafĂŠ now takes full advantage of its architectural historyâsunlight pours through the towering arched windows with southeastern exposure, giving the space an inviting, golden-hour glow no matter the season. The old bank vault? Now a gallery, seamlessly blending history with artistry.
Despite an expanded team, Odyssey has kept its signature warmth and charm. The staff is as welcoming as ever, their passion evident in every meticulously pulled shot and velvety pour. Their barista skills? Easily the best on the shore. And the coffee itselfârich, balanced, and brewed with precisionâis a constant reminder that this isnât just another cafĂŠ; itâs an institution.
The atmosphere is a love letter to dark academia, where well-worn books and quiet conversations meet the hum of consistently excellent coffee shop musicâthe kind that fuels deep thought and sparks creativity. And for those of us who believe a great pastry is the perfect coffee companion, Odyssey never wavers. Their Balthazar selection is always on point, and my go-to, the everything croissant, is an unwavering ritual.
Odyssey Coffee isnât just a coffee shopâitâs an extension of the community, a place to gather, think, and connect year-round. Their new space honors the past while shaping the future, and weâre all...

Even if you just want something eye-opening, wet, and cold, at Odyssey Coffee you will discover an cold brew better than any cold brew you have ever tasted.
And oh: Care for a croissant? Odyssey's croissants are delivered daily from (are you sitting down?) Balthazar Bakery in New York City. Yes, the one on Spring Street, renowned for providing New Yorkers with the very finest European-quality pastries available in America. That's a 60-mile hike!    Read moreUpdate: The owner, Joey, did reply to me via email and I saw it in my spam folder today, June 15, 2025.
I tried getting in touch with the staff ahead of time to see if my food allergies could be accommodated, but I think they were too busy to return a phone call or email. Anyway, I went through with going to this spot today, June 14, 2025. The staff is kind and they really are super busy with a few lulls in the line through the two and a half hours I was there. I wound up not ordering coffee since I strictly use coconut or rice milks, which they did not have. I got an iced green tea, which was perfectly fine and worth the $4 I spent. My cousin and his girlfriend met me and ordered coffee beverages and seemed equally content. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and book selection available there too. This is a nifty spot in...
