The Fixx Hair Studio #3 — Attraction in New Braunfels

I have been here a handful of times and always been pleased with the outcome, until this last time. I visited on 8/31/24. I had booked a shampoo & blow dry, same as I do every time, paid the 50% deposit of $14 and went in. When I checked out, it should have been the remaining $14 plus tax and tip. It was $43.50 for a total of $57.50! I asked them why it was so much more & this was their response: "I am so sorry for the miscommunication. Our shampoo blowdry is a max 30 minute service that only includes the shampoo and the blowout. We normally charge extra time on top of a shampoo blowdry for our clients that do any kinda heat styling with their hair (flat ironed/curled), have longer, thicker hair or extensions. I did talk to ** and she was under the impression since you've been here before you were aware of how we charged. But for the "Product Charge" we implemented this a couple years ago it is a charge that is automatically added at check out. It is to cover the cost of the products being used during your service (shampoo, conditioner, leave ins, etc.)" So, because the stylist couldn't complete it in 30 min., like the stylist who did it the month prior, I'm penalized? The stylist last month didn't charge any extra for time or curling. The product charge wasn't a big deal other than the principal of thing. I want you to wash and style my hair, but I have to pay for the products to do that on top of the fee for the service? I'm attaching both receipts, for this month and last, so you can see the difference. Both times I did the exact same thing. Wash, dry, curl. I will never go back here....

I do really recommend Betsy. She does an incredible job with my hair. She is always happy and positive. I really enjoy doing my hair with her, plus every time she's done, I feel so beautiful and good with myself🫶🏼. My first language is Spanish, and i communicate with her in spanish, so i feel really relaxed that she can understand me and fulfill all my needs (she speaks English as well). Betsy is very knowledgeable in hair color and cut. I'll do a review after I've had a haircut and color but she definitely has me as a customer in the very near future. Today's visit was a consultation. Update: Betsy did a great haircut for me. My next visit will be for color and haircut. I'm confident she'll do amazing things with my difficult hair.
