Kari has such a talent with color!!! I specifically drive to her New Brighton salon from the southern suburbs, just to have Kari Kraker color and cut my hair, as my last stylist (which has been many years ago now), couldn’t seem to tackle my warmer/brassy natural tones.

The care, color skills, and knowledge that Kari uses to ensure that I leave that appointment looking and feeling sassy, just amazes me!

And whenever I’m up for a fun change or to try something a little different, she is full of great ideas too! Since salons were able to reopen during COVID in June, I decided to do something completely different with my natural color outgrowth. We are in a ‘transition’ period with this change, but I can tell you that my last 2 appointments have me leaving the salon feeling fun and great about my new hair color and tweaked style. So much so, that in my first work-zoom call following my first post-COVID re-opening appointment, I kept fielding complimentary texts from some people on that call, about my adorable hair! How’s that for feedback!

I was calling in to ask about the cost of service they provide. Only to be interrupted by whoever I was talking to and they said “I’m sorry I can’t hear you.” and then they just hung up— before I could even say anything I just heard the phone click….So I tried calling again and there was no response I could hear nothing on the other end. I tried to call one last time and she picked up and said “hello” and I said hello back to see if she could hear me and she did hear me because she responded back hello again and then I started talking again and she said “I’m sorry your phone is beeping.” and then she just hung up right away and I heard the phone click again. She did not even wait and try to see if I could fix the problem or even if it maybe wasn’t even my phone it could’ve just been something on the other side but she did not wait at all and I thought that was very rude. I don’t understand how they could get customers if they talk to them like that before they ever even get there. I have never been to the salon before and I will not ever be going...

I have been getting my hair cut here for years but have been very disappointed that no one wears masks. Their website encourages people to come without a mask “Come show your smiling faces, masks are optional… personal choice…. Bla bla bla” I just went through chemo last year and my hair finally grew back long enough to get it cut. Stopped by to book an appointment and of the 4 stylists, 4 customers and one person behind the counter, guess how many were wearing a mask? Zero. Covid cases in MN were 9000+ yesterday. Last month I lost my mother and last year I lost a sister and a coworker. Their anti- mask stance is a slap in the face. I will never be back. They don’t care about keeping their clients safe. It just takes one person in that small space to give you covid....
