Felt very obligated to leave this review because I don't think my engagement photos would have turned out even half as great without Kim encouraging me and leaving me with an amazing Blow Out.
I was in town visiting and also getting my engagement photos done when I woke up the last day, right before our shoot, with food poisoning. I was just trying to make it the best I could even though I felt horrid. Upon walking in for my appt, Kim could tell I wasn't feeling 100% and immediately started offering suggestions or remedies to help. Since I was the only one in the salon, she even put the A/C on blast for me and brought me a hand fan and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible throughout the entire service. Close to finishing with my hair, I said something like "I can do this" and Kim was just so sweet and said some of the most encouraging words to give me the final push of energy I needed. My hair looked amazing even if I didn't feel that way and even as I was walking out the door, she told me one more time "You got this. It's only one hour and the photos are going to turn out amazing!"
Kim, how right you were! Without her (and my photographer who was equally as patient and kind) I really don't think I would have had the strength to make it through the day let alone the shoot and it just goes to show...you can be good at your job but kindness and compassion can go so much farther.
Thank you so much to Buff Beauty Bar and my girl Kim. Anytime I'm in Nola, I will make it an occasion to get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI travel to New Orleans almost every week. My coworker and I decided to get gel manicures here. I've never been so humiliated in my life. I wear gel polish over acrylic . I realize they don't do acrylic, however, I was willing to remove the acrylic and just do a gel manicure. The aesthetician immediately told me she couldn't do my nails because when she soaked off the gel polish, it would eat through the acrylic. I let her know that was fine I didn't need the acrylic any more, I'll just have a gel manicure. There was a lot of back and forth and it was finally stated they didn't have the equipment to remove the acrylic which is absurd because if you soak the gel off, it will also remove the acrylic and all you would need is an Emory board to remove any excess. While the staff was friendly and tried to offer other services, I was left feeling like I was the scum of the earth because I had acrylic on my nails. The salon is small so it became public knowledge to everyone in the salon what was going on. I feel like it could have easily been handled more professional...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeveral days ago I made an appointment for a blow out for this morning with a gift card received for my birthday. After being diagnosed with covid yesterday afternoon, I thought it best to cancel. When I called, I got a voicemail. I left a message explaining my situation and requested a call back. This morning I received an email thanking me and using my gift card for the no show. When I called to inquire, I was told they did not have a voicemail. I explained they did because I left a message on one. I was then told that they did but they didnāt check it because it was āfullā. I then confirmed that they used my entire gift card for a no show, even though I canceled the appointment. As a side note, I also didnāt confirm via the text message, as I was awaiting test results. Will never go there and will never recommend. As a lifetime local, I was hoping to love it. Unfortunately, I...
