The rooms were cleaned well before and throughout our stay, as the maintenance and house-keeping staff were amazing. However, there were several firm points I believe were missed by ownership. -- First of all, I had booked the Junior Suite thinking that we would be getting an extra room full of extra tables, couches, etc. However, what we found was that this extra room was completely empty aside from two individual chairs, and some artwork on the wall. It looked like the extra room we paid for was more of a bare apartment living room. We were pretty astounded to find no dressers for our week's worth of clothes, or tables to eat and drink at (outside of two small end tables on either side of the king bed). For a full week's stay, having to live out of our suitcases, and stash dirty clothes in a corner pile on the other end of the room was very inconvenient to say the least. There were times we had gone out to get take out food, or buy some beer and wine to take back and enjoy in our suite, but the room also had no refrigerators or kitchenette area to keep food or drinks cold. For the extra bump in price from a standard room, and especially for booking this hotel an entire week, this all was pretty unfortunate. The room itself was relatively noisy to the outside NOLA life, especially noticeable later at night, but to a certain degree we expected that while staying so close to the French Quarter. Our TV did work well and we were able to log into Netflix, Hulu, etc - to watch our own favorite shows. The volume on the TV didn't go up very high at all, but overall that wasn't as big of a deal. The remote contol to control the ceiling fan's intensity and light also did not work, probably needed a new battery. Finally, the pool was in a beautiful area in the middle of the courtyard of rooms. While the pool was swimmable, there was debris and litter floating in it every time we went to swim. I believe maintenance should be skimming that pool at least twice a day. And while the occasional fresh towel was put on each pool chair, more often than not myself and other guests were having to walk to the janitorial closet in search for fresh pool towels. -- Some final positives were again, on the cleanliness of the room, as well as the freshness of the new clean linens. The bed was also very big and fairly cozy. ----- Overall, if you are looking for a place to stay near the FQ that is completely no-frills, mid range level, limited amenities, just looking for a bed, clean room, shower, and basic TV, this is a fine place. However I'd advise anyone to keep in mind these points before booking, if you're looking for a more comfortable stay, expecing a fridge, dresser, larger tables etc, you won't find it here (unless they choose to include these amenities in the future). I also used to stay here when staying near the French Quarter prior to Covid, and I will say service has changed quite a bit since then. Even the full continental breakfast that came with every stay here before Covid has been almost completely rolled back to some pastries and coffee. Maybe some of these things fall between impacts of Covid and potentially new management since 2019? Either way, I think it would be a very valuable investment for the French Quarter Courtyard Hotel to invest in some of these things. I probably won't be returning sadly, but while I wouldn't flat out advise against a stay here, I'd urge those considering it to keep all of these...

I arrive today to the hotel and and the front desk lady name Usgena was rude. When I show her my reservation that I had printed out for the hotel, she told me that she did not it. What happen to greeting a guest? Additionally the hotel room she gave me was not clean yet. She move me to another room, but the phone inside the room did not work. I asked her about it and she was stated that the phone does not work so you have to live with it. Another thing that came up was right before I walked out to go to Jackson square, the she was helping the some other guest that happen to be a different complexion much better than I. She offer to give them maps and information about the area. I did not get anything from her and that is what is mess up. Her co-worker tried to correct her by stepping in and trying to help me out but, it was her who was lacking in customer service. People like this should not work in customer service because, if you come to the NOLA and you pay a decent amount, you expect better treatment.
For the rooms...
After being move out of the room that was not ready for me, I went to the first floor. The rooms are huge. There is one thing you must take in mind if you book your room here. Either iron your clothes or bring your iron from home. The room did not have a iron for my clothes. In my opinion, regardless if you stay in the french quarters or the central business district you should have the basic amenities. This is unsat.
Also, there is issue with their AC. You cannot lower it below 72 or the unit will freeze. This is crazy and it makes me want to shake my head and ask why did I think this place would be a good place to stay at?
Pest control.
SPIDERS SPIDERS
A spider came up out of my box of chocolates. I cannot make this up. As I write this review, a spider came up out of my box of chocolates and a moth is flying in the room. I understand the french quarters are old, but this is not my first rodeo being in the FQ.
I recommend if you have to stay here, just postponed your trip or stay outside of the french quarters in the american district if you want to have amenities. This place is not worth the money...
Read moreWe used to love, love, love the French Quarter Suites --- not any more. Actually quite the opposite. This hotel was always our home in New Orleans and we stayed EVERY Jazz Fest for more than 10 days every year since 2012. Not any more. It's taken me months to write this review since my last stay because I was genuinely morning the end of an era and our home away from home in NOLA. The property was sold last year and the new owner / management could care less about their customers or staff. One of the things that always made the place feel like home was the wonderful, happy staff. Most of the original staff has left, those that are still there are way overworked and unhappy, and the recently hired staff is miserable, unprofessional and not trained very well. This all comes down to the management. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but the hotel decided to do away with this and did not provide those of us who had booked with breakfast included any compensation. Pool was not cleaned regularly, which made it very unappealing to go in. Our regular room, which we had been promised would be ready for us (not only was this confirmed when I reserved our room, but I had also called the week before we were arriving to let them know we were coming in late and to confirm we would have our regular room) has given to another guest. The front desk told us that management had told them NOT to hold rooms for regular customers, even those that have been coming for years and paid a deposit. We had informed the front desk that we would be paying cash, other than the deposit which was put on a credit card. Before checkout time was even over, the front desk has already processed our credit card (and this was the same front desk person we had told we would be paying cash). His response was "oh well". Late check out was absolutely refused, even though we had been told the hotel was empty following Jazz Fest week. So no promised room held, no breakfast, not very clean, horrible, unpleasant customer service ......... I'd say stay somewhere else. We have already found a lovely place to stay...
