Yikes, where do I start?
Possibly the unprofessionalism plaguing this review page by the social media staff. I get it, people are upset being told indirect information that's clearly on your site. But there is no need to bust heads on social media. This is social media 101, unless yourey trying for that new, hip, shame is the new "we're a hit" type of feel.
So, I was contacted by Maria about gallery representation. I was excited, and asked for more information. Unfortunately, I got automated messages that gave me links to basic pages, none of which felt like a real "representation" opportunity.
This gallery wants you to pay a $50 fee for a chance to be looked at. If they decide they like your work. Goodie, now you get the fun of paying them to advertise and promote your work under the logistics of "guidance" costing you a minimum of $2300. If you sell something? Awesome, 30% commission on top of everything you're paying them.
This gallery is you know, happy to host your work, if you pay them to do everything for you.. well, but only if they "like" your work.
TLDR: was told the gallery was interested in having my work. Was given automated messages and indirect info. $50 chance of entry. $2300+ you pay them to advertise. Then take 30% of your sale as well.
Prospecting Artists enjoy at your own risk.
And now I wait.. for someone at the gallery to prove my original paragraph by bashing me. Cheers to hoping they don't publicly shame me via copy pasta of...

Olga's sharp monochromes are full of artistry and technique that range from subtle oil paint finish to a deep chiaroscuro effect. Devoid of all the noise and unfiltered distraction of mainstream photography, they will make you rethink the merits of chasing the light with a color sensor.
A belated visit - i had missed the opening but was able to recruit a couple of work friends to join - turned into a private and inspiring viewing. We met the charismatic and highly caffeinated owner of the gallery - late Friday afternoon an opportune timing - who decided to memorialize our visit by crashing the party with a bottle of prosecco.
I recommend it. And if you are lucky, you might meet the artist herself holding court in the floodlit room with some inspired Q&A. It will at the very least make you want to put down your phone and pick up that...
Read moreFor almost one year I have been working with Agora Art Gallery in New York. I am excited and impressed with the very professional and hands-on approach. The entire staff of Agora Galerie, in New York as well as globally, is very responsive and has been very supportive and professional over this period. Eleni Cocordas, who is the Director of Agora Gallery in New York, has managed the process with outstanding professionalism and deep understanding of art. I was lucky enough to participate in the exhibition "In and Out of the Garden” in May 2019. The preparation of the exhibition was a great experience. The selection of art work, the management of sending the artwork to New York and the preparation of the exhibition space. The digital documentation as well as the exhibition itself including the opening event was very professionally managed. I look forward to more cooperation with Agora Gallery in the future and I am entirely pleased with all outcomes of this...
