Booked a reservation online through one of the reservation apps. When we got to the restaurant, they had no record of our reservation. They communicated that it was due to the reservation apps problem and nothing on their end. We showed them the reservation confirmations and while they acknowledged we had made a reservation, they didn't have any tables available for us and continued to seat other reservation guests that came in after us. We were a little annoyed having to wait but things happen so no biggy.

Eventually a table opened and we were seated. The restaurant was very busy, seems like a hot spot. After being seated it was several minutes until we received menus. After getting the menus it was another 15 minutes or so before our order was taken. The food arrived fairly quickly after ordering and everything was delicious. Our table was cleared and we were provided with dessert menus about 15-20 minutes after our table was cleared. Once we decided on dessert it was several minutes again before we could place that order. Again, food came very quickly and was delicious.

When the check finally arrived my husband was quick to hand over the credit card to avoid any additional wait. It seemed that there were two men responsible for seating and waiting all tables. They didn't seem overly efficient, while they appeared to be trying, it seemed the restaurant could do well with a more efficient waitstaff. As someone who has worked in the restaurant business off and on since the age of 15, all I could think of was how much money the restaurant was losing by turning the tables so slowly. It wasn't for lack of patrons waiting.

All in all, food was delicious. Kitchen staff and bussers were fast and courteous. The only critique would be to quicken...

I hate to be this person, but giving one star because of the service. I dined alone and it was mostly pleasant until I received the bill. I was about to put my card down when I saw that I had been automatically charged 20% gratuity. When I asked the server (Antonio) about it, he was not surprised or apologetic and simply said something was wrong with the machine. When I asked if they could correct it, he just looked at me and said, “so you don’t want to pay it?” I pride myself on being someone who ALWAYS pays at least 20% tip, but I cannot respect an establishment that does shady practices like this. If the machine was truly messed up (which it clearly wasn’t), Antonio should have been upfront and stated outright that 20% gratuity was already added. But it seemed as though he hoped I wouldn’t notice and would add even more of a tip on top of the 20%. When I didn’t back down, he said he would try to fix it and for me to give him my card. I refused and said I would not give my card until he came back with a corrected receipt because I don’t trust he won’t still overcharge me. He finally took it and returned with a correct receipt. I put in my card and add a 15% tip. I went up to him and asked to speak to a manager and he said he wasn’t there. So I just told him that what he did wasn’t cool and he had a blank face and showed no remorse. Hopefully no one else has fallen victim...

I don't live in the city anymore. However, I had a CLE class downtown and I had planned on meeting a friend that works downtown, so I was lured back to TriBeCa. This time, however, I wanted to try a new sushi joint. So, I dutifully searched through Yelp and came across Tokyo Bay. The reviews are favorable, so I decided that we should go there. I arrived about five minutes earlier, and there were no other patrons there. I actually didn't mind at all because I prefer quiet dining experiences, especially when on a first date. The waitress immediately asked if I wanted anything to drink, and I politely declined since I was waiting for my friend. Once she arrived, we looked through the menu and quickly made our decisions. She ordered the spicy tuna rolls while I ordered the Philadelphia roll and the fried bananna roll (don't hate). While the sushi was decent, the pieces were too small. Yes, I know the old adage: "You get what you pay for." However, I expected to get a little larger pieces. Alas, the place is nicely decorated and inviting. For the money, it's not a bad dining experience. However, I definitely prefer other sushi places in the area. While I certainly want to go on a second date with the person I was with, if we want sushi again, it'll definitely be at a...

If you’re craving an exceptional pizza experience in New York, Ovest Pizzoteca is a must-visit spot. Nestled in the heart of the city, this place offers some of the best wood-fired pizza you’ll ever taste. The crust is thin, airy, and perfectly charred, with a delightful smoky aroma that only a wood-fired oven can deliver. Their toppings are fresh, flavorful, and artfully balanced. Whether you go for a classic Margherita or something more adventurous like their truffle or prosciutto options, every bite is a testament to their commitment to quality and authenticity. The tomato sauce bursts with natural sweetness, and the mozzarella melts into creamy perfection. The cozy, rustic ambiance adds to the experience, making it an ideal spot for a casual dinner with friends or a date night. The service is friendly and efficient, ensuring that your pizza is piping hot when it hits your table. In a city teeming with pizza joints, Ovest Pizzoteca stands out as a gem for its exceptional flavor, craftsmanship, and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I recently dined at Ovest Pizzoteca and Bar, and I have to say, it was a truly unsettling experience. While I had high hopes for the food and atmosphere, my meal was completely ruined when I spotted a roach crawling along the bar right next to our food and drinks. While the staff tried to address the situation kindly, their efforts fell short. Unfortunately, the roach ended up on our food! To make matters worse, we were still charged for the meal, and the only compensation offered was a meager $20 discount. Given the circumstances, this felt utterly inadequate. A restaurant should prioritize cleanliness and customer satisfaction, and this experience highlighted a serious lack of both. I left feeling frustrated and grossed out. Where we didn’t even feel comfortable finishing our drinks. I won't be returning, and I strongly advise anyone considering dining at Ovest Pizzateca to think twice. There are far better options out there that prioritize hygiene and customer care.

Entering Ovest is like stepping into an inviting pocket of Italy, a haven of authenticity in the heart of the city. As soon as you walk through the door, you're greeted by the irresistible scent of traditional Italian fare, promising the unique and flavorful culinary journey that lies ahead. Their pizza stands out as a gastronomic masterpiece, each slice a testament to the true art of Italian pizza-making. The taste is original, a delightful symphony of superior ingredients that dance on your palate, held together by a delectably crisp crust. However, their offerings are not just confined to pizza. Their coffee is a standout, an amazing blend that offers a robust yet smooth finale, perfect for savouring. The ambiance is a perfect blend of rustic charm elegance, offering a visual feast that matches the gastronomic one. Ovest isn't simply a restaurant - it's an immersive experience tucked away in the cityscape. Definitely coming back!
