Went to Wildflower because we saw great reviews mentioning their brunch. We were underwhelmed to say the least. We ordered the churros as an appetizer, and I had a latte. The churros were good, and the latte was fantastic, so we were excited for our main courses. My partner ordered the stuffed French toast, and it was pretty bad for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the French toast wasn’t stuffed. It was just two slices of French toast stacked on top of each other with whipped cream and bananas on top. This is the first time I’ve seen French toast served without anything…y’know, stuffed between the two pieces of toast. Just like a small amount of chocolate drizzle, which isn’t really…stuffed. Furthermore, the slices of French toast were THICK. Like an inch and a half. The center of each slice was just plain bread because it was cut too thick for the eggs to soak through. Even worse, one of the slices was burnt. My partner ended up not finishing the burnt slice because between the uncooked center and the burnt outside it wasn’t a great experience. I had the breakfast brioche. The flavor of the sandwich was average. Again, the bread was really thick, so it made it really hard to enjoy the breakfast sandwich as a whole. The bun was untoasted which highlighted how dry the bread was. The potatoes that came with the sandwich were very average as well. Just kinda dry and lifeless; you can get better home fries at a diner. It was a shocking food experience considering we liked our starter and the drink we ordered. Also, a tip to management, your presentation of drinks to order at brunch could use a little work. We were given a cocktail menu and a full wine list, but there were no options listed for coffee, tea, or other common brunch beverages. I had to ask the server if options were available, and I overheard the women at the table next to us having to ask the server the same question. Would’ve been nice to know all the options available.
Finally, the service was almost non-existent. We saw our server once at the beginning where he asked if we were ready to order, and luckily we were because we only saw him again after we finished eating to pay the check. It would’ve been nice to have our water refilled at some point. I’m not sure what the issue was because there were hardly any other occupied tables when we were there at 11 am.
Overall, not a great experience. There were some redeemable qualities, but I wouldn’t give this place a second look, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Especially in Manhattan, there are better brunch places where you’ll get your...
Read moreHorrible experience. (also - pretty questionable business tactics to incentivize guests to leave positive reviews for a “special gift” if you include certain positive phrases they give you…) The worst service I have ever encountered. As a person who was in the service industry for many years, I am very gracious toward subpar service. However, this was absolutely inexcusable. Went for dinner last night (Sunday 8/17) and stood waiting for the hostess for a few minutes. When we got sat we were sat in this cute little room behind the bar, but sadly that was the best part of our dinner. It took around 10 minutes if not longer for somebody to come greet us and get our drink order. We weren’t even sure who was taking care of us as neither the blonde or the man with the glasses introduced themselves to us. Finally the man came back and got our order. We received our app and entrees coursed out but none of the wait staff would clear our table properly between courses. However, when we were done with dinner, we stacked our plates and put the napkins on top and put the dishes toward the edge of the table to indicate we were done. For FIFTEEN minutes, the servers, busser and even the bartender walked by our table looking at our table seeing it needed to be cleared and refused to stop by. To add insult to injury the table next to us had to stop the man with the glasses to ask for a water refill and when he stopped, he checked on the other table and continued to ignore us. Finally we had to stop him and ask for a dessert order and as he started to walk away my husband asked to him to please remove the dishes that had been needing to be removed for now 20 minutes. The server was clearly annoyed that we asked him to remove the dishes. When the Molton cake arrived it was so cold and dry. Not even warm. We then had to wait so long for a check that my husband had to get up and go to the bartender and ask for it. I have never experienced such a blatant lack of service and lack of basic clearing and care for the table. We will...
Read moreOur waitress was lovely. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen should find a new job. I ordered the Chilaquiles with no beans (I asked for them in a to-go container because my geriatric dog has stopped eating and we keep trying to entice her). Anyhow, my dish got delivered and the waitress ran over to tell me they could not do the beans on the side in a to-go box (which mind you makes zero sense because what if I asked for them on the side and then didn’t eat them? Could I not get them in a to-go container then? And am I not paying for the beans as part of the cost of the dish?) Anyhow, I chose not to make a big deal of it BUT my dish had beans on it anyway so I asked for a new one. Came out just minutes later which I was suspicious of but decided to give the kitchen the benefit of the doubt. Turns out that was dumb of me because all they bothered to do was put the exact same food on a new plate despite beans being smeared all over the chips. So disgusted by how completely unacceptable that was—even McDonalds wouldn’t do that. And what if I had a food allergy—dangerous on top of everything else. Will never dine here again and I recommend you skip it as well and spend your $ where your order will be treated...
