Chop Shop is hands-down one of my favorite spots for Thai fusion! Every time I visit, the food is consistently delicious — bold, flavorful, and always beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in their work, and it shines through in every bite. The service is always warm, friendly, and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, the staff makes you feel genuinely welcome. They also have a great selection of vegan options, which is a huge plus. I highly recommend the green papaya salad — so fresh and vibrant — and the Thai glazed eggplant, which is full of rich, savory flavor. For non-vegan picks, the spare ribs are insanely good, and the crab fried rice is a must-try. Bonus points for their covered back patio, which is fully enclosed for summer — perfect for a relaxed meal outside without dealing with the heat or bugs. It’s such a cozy, inviting space. If you’re looking for consistently amazing food, great service, and a chill atmosphere, Chop Shop always delivers. Total gem!

Normally I don’t leave the review but I need to do because it was not a great experience at all. Also this was my third time visiting here but I don’t think I will come back here anymore. I ordered orange beef with rice. It came with rice. I can tell both were cooked a while ago. They were not cold but they are not hot. I tried to talk about it to the server but she rushed and told me, “ calm down, I will bring new rice”. I don’t think it was good way to talk to your customer. I even didn’t have a chance to tell her about orange beef since she just walked away before I finished my sentence. And finally she brought warm and newly cooked rice after I finished the beef. And she never checked in. Also the portion of orange beef was small.

Good place for a casual pan-Asian dinner. Quality of food and ingredients seems high and we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered in addition to the cocktails. We particularly enjoyed the orange beef, although the portion was much smaller than we expected for a “large” plate. They have a cute back patio area which is lovely in summer. Please note that the prices of the menu items are higher than what is advertised on the website, so I’m posting the current menu here.

I came here with my girlfriend after walking the High-Line on a nice Saturday. We built up an appetite and this place was the close by. Sadly, We should have searched for a reviewed location. The food was a big letdown.

We were able to sit at back 'outdoor' room. Sitting in the back is really quiet. I was over hearing the conversation from the couple 2 tables away from us.

We ordered the bun and it was very sad and disappointing. At $4 each I wanted to more. Not because it was tasty but I expected more of it. The bun (bread) was cold so it made the filling inside cold faster. $4 for 2 bites is not really worth unless it's really tasty. My gf ordered a spicy shrimp chow fun noodles. And I got the braised short ribs with radish. The chow fun sauce tasted like watered down shiracha. And my braised short rib lacked salt was not tender enough to get the melted collagen texture. We also shared the snow pea veggie stir fry. We both enjoyed that dish the best because it was flavor stuff and had a fresher taste compared to our entrees.

This place might be good to come for drinks and chit chat but I would not come here for the food. This place needs to replace the old tired Chinese cooks with a 'rock star' chef.

We should have taken the train downtown for a more complete meal. We walked down 6 blocks to Artichoke pizza and shared a $5 pizza slice to finish our meal and then walked but uptown to the...

I went to Chop Shop today cause the ratings were pretty good and it was close to my new apartment building. I entered and it looked like a really cute spot but I haven’t come across such horrible service ever in New York. I got served fully fried dumplings when we had ordered pan fried. They changed them to steamed but then I found an eyelash in the dumpling which I decided to ignore as they had been nice enough to replace it earlier. I then also found hair in the drunken noodles and that’s when I decided to say something cause I couldn’t continue eating it. They didn’t even apologise and just cleaned the table. I thought that they would at least give us a discount or not charge us for the noodles but they didn’t bother with anything. I then told the server that we found hair twice and his response to that was it’s weird how everything wrong happened to us and tried to imply that we were lying about it or that we purposely put hair it in the food. We just wanted to get out of there at that point so we paid the full amount and left immediately. I do not recommend going here if good hygiene and peace of mind is...
