Read moreNormally I have a great time at AMC Lincoln Square. I have AMC A-List so I'm there almost every week seeing something if there's anything worth seeing.
However, tonight my experience was ruined by a staff member who tried to kick me out of the theater. I went to see The Accountant on Friday. I booked my tickets the night before to make sure I didn't miss it opening night. It was my own fault, but I ended up accidentally getting a ticket for Thursday night (the night I was booking) instead of Friday.
At the theater, a couple who had the seat I was in shared some very valid confusion as we saw we both had tickets for H14. We quickly resolved the issue because there were several seats open and they sat next to me. No issues at all.
Then, for some reason, minutes later, an off-duty staff member came from across the row to yell at me and demand I give up my seat and leave the theater. The couple next to me said everything was fine. It was only then, after he took my phone from me to see my ticket, that he discovered after maybe 2 minutes of close digging that my ticket was for Thursday, not Friday. I had been scanned in fine and assumed everything was OK, and tried to explain how it must have been a mistake I made while ordering tickets late the night before.
This didn't matter to the staff member, who cared more about my seat than the couple did. He called me a liar to my face about 5 times. Every time I explained it was an honest mistake, he just told me I could stop lying. It was so upsetting. It's hard to convey how rude, offensive, and disrespectful he was being, but he had some really negative energy.
Didn't really enjoy myself that night. Normally I have a great time and the staff is awesome (especially that one guy scanning tickets). This was the polar opposite. I've never seen that guy before, so I'm sure I'll never see him again, so hopefully I can just continue enjoying AMC Lincoln Square...
Read moreI went for the Smile 2 Early Screening Premiere on the 15th. The girl at box office looked like she didnt want to be there and when i asked her where the screen was she pointed me to a table. I eventually found the place where they were handing out the physical Smile 2 premiere tickets but the movie was not playing on that floor. The man working at the booth got on his phone, and the woman said she didnt know where the movie was playing, only the man knew?? but he was on his phone on a call in the middle of work. She said the movie was upstairs and probably on the third floor. I went there and only an IMAX screen was there so I asked an usher (boy with blonde hair) where Smile 2 was playing and he said to ask the people on the 1st floor (the same people that said the movie was playing on that 3rd floor…). At this time I was very pissed off because everyone working there was very rude and unhelpful and they had made me late for the movie already. I went down the stairs to the second floor and saw a greeter station so I figured they would know where Smile 2 was playing. Bingo! it was on that floor, almost 10 minutes of going up and down flights of stairs I finally found the theater but I had missed the first 10 minutes of the movie. Honestly I cannot recommend this location. Almost all employees are slow, and ruined the showing for me. I had a totally different experience at Regal 2 days later, where I went to watch the movie again because of the parts I had missed but most definitely will not be going back to this AMC location with its...
