What is to say about this place well let's get the bad point out first. Loud music in a small place early in the morning is disturbing. I could care less if the music is soft slow rock, jazz, gospel or even reggae. It's just too much early in the morning. People are waking up from the bed coming for breakfast grumpy angry and some happy but they don't want to hear the music so loud turn it down a little bit. No one probably told you this because they're too scared because you're handling their food but I will be the first to let you know. LOL so you can't get five star if you have one complaint or two or three. Nonetheless let's move on . Second reason to minus the star was It was slower than a SLOTH going to the bathroom. We all know sloth are one of the slowest moving animals on this earth. I take it that there were two staff members workin the front. Okay but the line was 4 to 5 people deep. What is the reason for this first thing in the morning? It doesn't take two people to make one smoothie. Now if per chance 1 if the employees on this day was in fact a brand new employee and needed to be trained then I'll cut you some slack but not much. There's no reason for 4 people waiting on line when most of the food is prepared and if you're talking about a smoothie it only takes approximately 4 minutes to make. All right I got that off my chest let's move on. When it comes down to the food I have not tried everything of course I don't think anyone has yet. So let's talk about what I did have I had to ackee n breadfruit with some callaloo. It came in a nice container no leakage of the juice thank God. Nothing worse than smelling like fish and everybody knows coming from you. LOL The breadfruit was "nice" you hear me this is how we Jamaicans talk. you know what nice mean look it up ? Jamaican patois when we say nice , boi you watch yourself it must mean you're very very good. So everything was fresh nothing over salty nothing runny nothing too soft everything was perfect. I never ever said that about any other cooking that I've experienced. It could have been I was very hungry I doubt that very seriously cuz I'm very particular about my food. Nonetheless the plantain was nice it wasn't overly sweet. When I finally did receive customer service it was pleasant a joy to talk to the girl ,a joy to talk to the young man. Professionalism is definitely in the house. However I can't give you five stars or four because there were some things like I just wrote that was a need to be addressed. No reason why five people should be on the line when two people are serving. As far as the ambiance its okay , it's a cafe so therefore it lives up to its name. As you can see in the pictures a good amount of room for a small crowd. Oh they also got a backyard in case you want to go sit in the back. Very clean very neat even the serving station where they did the juice was very neat. Different sort of paraphernalia on the wall and books even a drum I was a little perplexed about the drum but nonetheless it added some beauty to the place. I like the fact that it's located in Flatbush on one of the busiest streets which is Church Avenue it helps to bring good , healthy food to the neighborhood. Now if you're looking for parking it can be a little tricky because once again this is a very very busy neighborhood. So I advise you to check the signs because traffic cops be out here like flies on stink! writing up tickets. And you can't get mad at them so don't even skin up your face. You have to be mad at yourself for parking somewhere you're not supposed to park. Is it well worth getting a ticket to eat here ? NO! so make sure you park properly. LOL I hope you readers will come out and check it. I'm not a vegan by no means but I do eat vegetables so this was the perfect place for me. The cost is not bad for what I had. Will I try the chicken entree yeah I probably will later on. I'm looking forward to it actually. You want a nice place to sit after traveling and shopping on Church...

Now I went back yesterday ri get a acai bowl....
I swear it was just granola and bananas....
I coulda swore there should have been blueberries and strawberries, raspberries added... But there was none
Something was telling me to go across the street but i didn't listen.
Oh and acai was bland asf....
I was so disappointed. But hey it Is what it Is.
Btw the smoothies here are amazing
The patty I ordered was very soggy in the middle....
Glad pumpkin wasn't sour... and fyi if you aint know theses places do not make patties from scratch
They use the same company for patties as a distributor. My rant is over.
Oh wait one more thing the girl at the counter FORGOT my pattie I had to remind her to give it to me... and si ce we here... I hate places with 0 accountability for proper lines and employees that don't pay proper attention to what's going on. AND!!!! WHEN YOU TRY TO CALL and there's no answer so you gotta inevitably deal woth people trying to skip you....
I love this place bit I have to be honest and transparent about...
Read moreAWESOME spot for vegetarian/mostly vegan Jamaican food. (They do have a few menu items with fish that are clearly labeled.) Their slogan is "there is no guilt in our pleasure," and I believe this is accurate! They serve a variety of food, from comforting dishes (like lasagna and mac and cheese) to straight up health food (like acai bowls and ginger shots), and everything seems high quality and free of excess oil and salt. They have a great lineup of baked goods. I tried the banana bread and the pumpkin bread and loved both, especially the oats and walnuts they were topped with. I had to try the 7 grain porridge (they have a rotating porridge each day) and really enjoyed it; it was warm and spiced and just the right level of sweetness. One of my other favorite items was the 13 bean soup, with hearty potato and carrot chunks. I also enjoyed the veggie lasagna and the steamed callaloo. They were also super welcoming and helpful in answering my questions about the menu. I would definitely return here for a meal next time I'm in the area, and I hope to try their...
