Bleecker Trading UWS — Attraction in New York

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bleecker Trading UWS. As someone who has not collected traded, or played cards in well over two decades, the amazing staff and owner welcomed me into their store and helped me sort through a binder full of old Pokemon cards this afternoon. Mills and Davis took the time to evaluate which cards were valuable and talked me through the condition of the cards/market value. They made me an incredibly fair offer. Their knowledge, top notch customer service, and patience were admirable.

But what really impressed me? The sense of community the staff and owner cultivate in the store. Over the course of several hours, I watched the staff greet countless repeat customers by name, hold conversations about their interests, and make recommendations about new packs or specialty cards. I saw the staff take time to get to know first time visitors from the neighborhood and folks visiting from out of town. They masterfully dealt patrons of all ages treating everyone, especially their younger patrons, with the utmost respect. They have set up the space with multiple tables to allow folks to open and sleeve their new purchases, trade with others, check out rare cards on sale, and catch up with like minded folks.

Recently, I got back into Pokemon and decided to start collecting cards again. Definitely not the best time to find them with all the scalping and hype, but I'm not letting it stop me. I ended up buying Prismatic Evolutions and 151 booster bundles. Everyone wants them and difficult to find so they were expensive. I was very excited to pull three illustrations from the booster bundle plus some other good cards! They do have a nice selection of individual packs with a wide price range. I didn't really look around because I basically had tunnel vision with the pokemon cards. The store does appear on the smaller side. Very friendly staff.
