Here’s a polished draft of your review—firm, detailed, and professional while still strongly negative:
I have been a long-standing member of Blink Fitness in Bed-Stuy, and the customer service here continues to be appallingly poor. This morning was yet another example of how little respect this location shows its members.
Without warning, Blink switched its check-in process and required every patron to download and register on the app before being allowed inside. At 5 a.m., this created a long, unnecessary line of frustrated members—many of us losing valuable workout time. When several of us asked why there had been no prior communication, the manager brushed us off with a smile and simply said there were “signs.” That answer is unacceptable. This is a gym with a front desk staff whose entire job includes greeting and checking in members. A simple, proactive statement like, “Starting next week, you’ll need to use the app to sign in,” would have avoided this chaos entirely.
The worst part was not the disruption itself, but the dismissive and condescending attitude of the manager. His rudeness was completely unprofessional and reflective of the poor training and culture Blink seems to tolerate. This is not a one-off experience either—this kind of tone and behavior is consistent at this location.
Yes, Blink is a lower-cost gym, but that does not excuse “sorry customer service.” Members deserve basic communication and respect. Unfortunately, because this is the only gym within walking distance in my neighborhood, I am stuck here for convenience. Otherwise, I would take my business elsewhere in a heartbeat.
Would you like me to make this punchier for Yelp/Google reviews (shorter, sharper, more impactful) or keep it more formal and detailed for something like an email complaint...
Read moreIve been coming here for the past 4 years and when you price your membership at $10 a month you get a certain clientele that comes in. Alot of new members have no damn gym etiquette. You have guys with their shirts off with bad body oder, with sweat dripping on you. You have people walking around with no damn shoes on. Too many social media influencers!!!!!!!! Is there anyway yall can put a ban on filming??! It's gotten out of hand, I constantly have to ask not to be in folks shots. There's a woman who brings a "service dog" in and she does nothing but sit on a bench on her phone the whole time. I get asked to do surveys, for what?? Nothing will change. There is a group as mentioned below that does come in, hood as hell. Loud, yelling, running, this isn't prison! There are tons of lockers but these hoodrats don't want to put anything in them. Guys walking around with huge gym bags...they are everywhere. In the windows, on the floor, hanging from equipment. The staff that works here stays downstairs at the desk. They NEVER go upstairs and put weights back or keep the peace, nothing. They allow this foolishness to keep happening.I have to constantly look around for dumbbells because they are never in the right spot and folks don't put them back. I sick of this and I'm canceling my membership. I'd rather pay more for a civil gym than...
Read moreThis place is absolutely horrible —find another gym to work out or be harassed regularly! Blink (or Pure Fitness) has launched an aggressive marketing campaign to force its members to download their app. It feels like coercion because they’re requiring you to do this or else you won’t be allowed to enter the facility. The right thing to do would have been to inform members about these changes before renewing their yearly memberships. Instead, they just imposed this new policy without notice. I’ve been harassed for the last three months to download the app. This has happened at least three times already—each time they decide there’s a new app you have to install on your personal device, and they harrass you with the worst attitude every time you enter the gym I joined the gym to use their equipment in exchange for a monthly and yearly fee. I never agreed to download their app onto my personal phone. Their insistence makes me think this new app might be collecting personal data to sell it. If it were only about signing in, they wouldn’t be so outrageously persistent about it. Or they would just simply make other options available like a scan key chain. So, this will be my last year. I’m very much looking forward to ending my...
