Yesterday afternoon, my boyfriend and I visited the MESSLOOK Hair & Spa, nestled in Chinatown, and it was a joy! The ambiance struck the right balance between comfort and sophistication. The staff were welcoming and demonstrated professionalism. My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here with a 4-treatment spa day. Our itinerary included a Couple’s deep tissue massage session, a Couple’s manicure and pedicure session, and a couple's facial session.
✔️ First stop: The Massage (60 Mins) —
Our massage therapists were gracious, approachable, proficient, and meticulous about making sure every detail of our massage experience was highly enjoyable. It's rare for me to drift off during a massage (for various reasons), but I was truly transported into a serene slumber (highlighted by some light snoring, it seems) while my therapist worked her magic! 😳 She lightly teased me at the conclusion, greeting me with a “Good morning” since I had dozed off during the service. This sparked a hearty chuckle for everyone in the room and reinforced the “inviting & relaxed atmosphere”. My boyfriend spoke about the positive experience with his massage too, and we both emerged from the massage room feeling renewed, calm, and limber! 🥰
✔️ Next in line: The Mani-Pedis (~1hr & 20mins) —
I chose a gel manicure and traditional pedicure. Interestingly, our massage therapists doubled as our nail and foot technicians as well! They were well-versed, amicable, and obliging. They treated us to complimentary beverages and snacks, and were exceedingly considerate to ensure an efficient and exceedingly enjoyable service and ambiance for us. I've visited numerous nail salons and Spas across NYC, and this was, hands down, the most professional, thoughtful, and efficient service I’ve ever received! My nail technician even suggested a few products to nurture and boost my nail health. I was truly impressed by his service! The staff members were harmonious and maintained a professional, yet friendly workplace. They genuinely seemed like a well-coordinated team, all striving for the same goal: customer complete satisfaction and wellbeing! The hand & foot massage during each respective service was also ✨Divine!✨! 😇
✔️ Final stop: The Facials (60 Mins)—
After a long hiatus, this was my first facial, and my boyfriend’s first, ever. It was unequivocally the best facial I've ever received! The technicians were knowledgeable, gentle, and their face, neck & shoulder massages during the facial service were unparalleled! This honestly felt like ✨SUPREME INDULGENCE✨, exactly fitting for our 🌹romantic anniversary mood 👩🏽❤️💋👨🏿🌹. We both received a “deep cleansing treatment facials” that were simply AMAZING! 😍
I have zero complaints about my experience, and my boyfriend Jonathan and I concurred (even before exiting the premises) that we would make a point of returning here for more treatments, very soon! 🥰
Overall Rating: A perfect 10/10! ⭐️
MESSLOOK Hair & Spa is a must-visit if you find yourself in Chinatown and in need of some quality pampering. They prioritize their clients' needs and it shows at every step of the way! 🥰

Read moreBUYER BEWARE!! I booked a puls’d deal for massage, foot scrub, facial and manicure. The facial was first. It was okay, the products they used were horrible though. The girl doing to facial asked if she could remove my white heads, and I said yes. It was pretty painful and bleeding and then I realized she was trying to remove my moles! She did not touch the blackheads on my nose however. When I came home, my face was starting to break out so I immediately washed their products off my face. It seems better aside from the scabs on my moles.
The same girl did my mani. Very basic, bad chemicals used for everything and their polishes were all pretty dark, only a couple of spring options. I chose pink and it started chipping on my subway ride home. The girl also did my foot scrub, which was the best thing out of it all.
A different woman massaged me and the sheets were very smelly, like dirty hair. I mentioned it a few times and she put a tissue over face hole, which did nothing. The massage was very basic and wish I didn’t get it. When I got up to put my clothes back on I noticed a streak of red on the sheets as well.
When I went to check out, I told her the massage beds were dirty and she said no, we changed the sheets. I said no you didn’t change the sheets and I told her about the smelly hair and the streak of red and she said oh, it must’ve been the person before you ha ha. Then she charged me $32.50 tax on $89 Puls’d. She said it was their company policy to tax on the full price of everything that was done and I told her that wasn’t legal. She said oh well it’s our company policy. I think she was at least trying so I gave her $20 tip and then she complained saying oh no you have to tip on $325! You have to, it’s required and it’s company policy and I said no it’s actually my policy to not! I think asked for $5 back. I was so sickened by the service that I had and the horrible smelly sheets and the fact that they didn’t care and on top of all this, they got an extra $52.50 from me? On top of the $89? I was definitely ripped off. That must be how their empty salon makes...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible experience. Let me break it down for you: I purchased a groupon for the full body, foot massage and facial. Everything was terrible. Full body massage: this takes place in the very back corner of the basement where its dark, there’s no service and they had vermin. Lady who did my back massage was absolutely terrible, she continuously used her elbows and forearms to press down on my spine. I kept telling her to not touch the bones, only the muscles. I don’t think she really understood and kept on with her elbow down my spine. Oh another thing was there were bugs in the room, the lady screamed as some giant bug crawled up her leg and when I was like whats that, she goes “oh nothing just the chair” lol…. Then why did you douse your leg in alcohol spray? Also, when she got to my legs I felt domestically abused. She was punching my calves and shin so hard and it was so painful. I would not be surprised if I get some nerve damage from this place. No one here is licensed or trained to be giving massages!!! Foot massage: they dipped my feet in boiling hot water while I was getting a facial to get ready for the foot massage. I could not put my feet in but they forcefully dipped them, i was like “its way too hot” then they took some cold water to mix it in. Facial: she put a boiling hot towel on my face without cooling it a little bit. The facial itself felt like I washed my face in hot water. they tried to upsell with microdermabrasion lol for $60 with your crusty dusty tools? Checkout: they charged $60 extra for TAX???? And demanded tip that was 20% of the full groupon price with was $650…even though the package was only $180 on groupon. All in all, its a waste of time, money and energy going in there. Never going back and will never recommend anyone...
