Incredible framing service! They are extremely experienced and detail oriented, and it is clear they take pride in their work. I've had several pieces framed by them, and each one has turned out amazingly! The materials and craftsmanship are excellent, every piece has a clean and professional finish that is not only beautiful but also sturdy. For example they use actual wood boards for their all of their frame backing (whereas custom frames I've had from other places used flimsy brown paper which stretched and deformed over time).
Also, for each piece, they took into account my desired style, and upon my request, provided great recommendations for things such as wood choice and mat size to create a cohesive look. They did not push extra services at all, and let me know when features such as mats could be omitted and still have quality results.
They even took the time and effort to create a special frame and backing design for a more complicated bamboo slat engraving piece, as my preferred frame material was typically too shallow to use on a raised frame style. Each bamboo slat was individually glued onto the backing evenly and cleanly so that a border could be created around the art. Extra steps were taken to color the inner border of the raised frame white, so that the finish was clean and cohesive with the main backing material.
They are the best! For as long as I live in the NYC area this will be my only framing...
Read moreI've been shopping around in various boroughs for a good stretcher/framer for a canvas painting (sized at 45"x30"). On average, I was quoted for about $200. In my frustration, I tried to frame it myself - went to Home Depot, got some wood and a staple gun. Thought it was okay and searched for a framer to lessen the cost. That shaved about $50. Still frustrated, I had the privilege of finding New Oriental Gallery on Google and started doing business with Mr. Wong who was very professional and upfront about his prices. I gave him my measurements and he texted me back with a quote of $65. I went to his shop with my canvas and discovered that I had done a poor job on my DIY stretching. For an additional $5, Mr. Wong, undid my job and framed it for a total of $70. I'm super grateful for his generosity and professionalism. I highly recommend. Please support these small businesses that do good work at very affordable prices! Let's be gracious and treat these hard workers...
Read moreGreat value, great work, turn around time is more than reasonable. If you’re in doubt, trust the taste of the person doing the framing. I don’t know his name but he has a great eye. I went in to get a poster framed in a simple black frame but I wanted two different backing colors and that’s all I knew. He asked me how many inches I wanted on the sides, top/bottom and I didn’t know off hand, so I totally trusted his judgement and the proportions are great. I will get everything I’ve been meaning to get framed done here. I kind of don’t even want to leave this review because then this hidden gem will be ever so slightly less hidden 😂...
