This supermarket is beautiful, a bit on the pricey side and all of the workers are Russian with limited English it seems. I asked for Old Kiev salami, which is amazing and they have it in the smaller Cherry Hill location on Ave U, but they told me they didn't have it. I went back to check and they did have it. Got on line to order and the lady behind the counter completely skipped me. I had to interrupt her and the customer behind me and I told her I was waiting in line first and then she apologized and took my order. I asked for the salami and she didn't know which one I was talking about. She picked up sausages and I told her no it wasn't that. She went around, which was nice to see which salami I was talking about, asked me in Russian if the slice was thin enough and then she said something to her colleague in Russian after she handed me my order, which I'm sure she was complaining about me... Which is why i only gave 3 stars... You are in America, I don't expect you to speak and understand English fluently, but you should expect that there may be non-Russian speaking customers in your store and you should serve them as you would the customers who share your native background....I later found the 24hr Net Cost, which is just a few blocks away, so maybe I'll just go there next time... Things were cheaper over there and they are 24hrs... Don't know about customer service because I didn't get that far yet, but definitely disappointed in the customer service at...
Read moreI was a loyal customer for many years and loved this place! I don’t know what exactly happened there. Maybe owners changed or managment or as usually covid happened :) but for the last I think two years everything changed there tremendously. Like if you buy berries they look ok but literally next day you have to throw them away because they are rotten. Kale was becoming yellow the next day. Etc…But the last thing which forced me to write this review was when I bought cheese there. I was buying the same cheese for the last year for sure. They sliced it. At home I found it was broken and taste and color was different. I brought it back and guess what manager said?:) It’s the same cheese but from different producer:) I was like: wait. If it’s from different producer it’s not the same already! But you kept the name, price and even location where the old one always was. Nope! She was insisting it’s the same cheese:) So at the end of the day they let me to pick different cheese for the same amount of money. Ok. I bought some stuff more and next day when I opened butter I found there were a black mold on it! Italian butter with expiration date March 2023! So it should be ok for another six months! It’s a pity, it was really good place, and I didn’t care it was overpriced. I was looking for quality and safety. I can’t trust...
Read moreI like to do light grocery shopping here sometimes. Their fruit and vegetable selection is usually good and fresh, and I also buy other products like cereal, bread, and produce on occasion.
My reason for three stars is:
the the deception of the bakery section. The cakes look really pretty and good, but with only having tried one, I’ll presume that they are not. I bought a tiramisu cake for a family dinner. It was the worst tiramisu cake (let alone the worst cake period) I’ve ever had. Tasted like soap. I can’t even tell you what it was made of... perhaps synthetic cream and cardboard ladyfingers?! Extremely disappointing, and certainly a lesson learned. I will not buy any baked good from here again.
I bought a container of raw cashews once that Cherry Hill packages themselves. It smelled and even tasted like fish. I threw the entire container away. Won’t be buying those again.
After my cake experience, a family friend told me that they purchased already made food and bakery items in the past, and both were not fresh. Cakes were frozen in the middle and food was old (not freshly made).
The store is cute, and can be convenient to shop in if you’re looking to grab a few things quickly, but I wouldn’t rely on this place for a full on grocery haul, and I certainly would not rely on it for...
