Many years ago—gosh, it feels like a lifetime—I reluctantly watched "Before Sunrise." It was my little brother's pick, and little did I know, it sparked a wanderlust in him that led to 11 years of European traveling for.work and fun. Reflecting on it now, I can clearly see the power of manifestation in his journey. He was imprinted by this movie, in ways I couldn't understand at the times
While the movie didn't strike a chord with me initially, revisiting it outdoors at Lincoln Center, under warm evening skies with a European girl friend by my side, reignited something. It made me realize how differently Europeans and Americans might perceive such tales, especially now, having spent my life as far, between both continents, literally split between the first half of my life only in Europe, and the second part, thus far, only in North America.
Strangely enough, its impact hits me now more than ever, nudging me to consider a journey back to Europe, especially after losing my beloved dog in December. Perhaps this loss has opened a new chapter for me.....
I couldn't quite recall the details of "Before Sunset," but to my surprise, they do reconnect! ... Whether briefly or for longer, I'll have to discover in "Before Midnight," which Lincoln Center did not show (maybe due to licensing).
My friend turned to me, at the end of the second movie...and the first thing she said was "I think he missed the plane. I think he missed the plane!". Lol I think she was saying what we were all thinking "I HOPE he misses his plane". But, I'm not going to spoil the movie for you, if you have yet to watch it! ☺️
A trailer peek later hinted at another unexpected twist—could they have two daughters now? It's intriguing and I just find out! When they reconnected he was already married with a son... soooo, what happened??? I'm so curious! 😊
In the end, I feel a pull—a call, if you will—to return to Europe. How long will I stay? How often will I go? Only time will tell....
And about love—Real Love—it defies words! Maybe it's best expressed in colors, scents, and images, rather than words alone.
If you've seen the trilogy, I'd love to hear your take on it.
P.S. Lastly, Lincoln Center has always been special to me. I've nicknamed it my ground zero in Manhattan (because of my beloved Metropolitan Opera), which I consider my ground zero in the entire America, even thou I started my life as an American in California, and not in NY. Watching movies outdoors there was a delightful surprise I never anticipated. I haven't watched movies outside also since I left Europe! Something is brewing here, I can tell! Thank you for the delightful experience of watching a movie outside, under warm summer skies of Manhattan, Upper West Side. Bring on more movies, and I'll be...
Read moreThe Big Apple Circus welcomes “Roncalli”. Love love love this place🙌🏾. Went here with my family and man was I impressed. This was my very first time ever in my entire life going to a circus play. We went to see The Big Apple Circus 🎪 🤡 show “RONCALLI” and man I was literally blown away. From the performances to the scenery to the structure of the show it was amazing. First off I would not consider myself a big circus fan but I was soo impressed with everything that after leaving the show I called everyone in my family to tell them what they had missed and that we all have to go see it together again. Very very impressive show and extremely talented actors omg they were all unbelievable😳🙌🏾. The venue was packed and cold but after entering the building honestly you would forget all about that. They had lots of places to take pics and videos and the artwork was very very detailed and very beautifully done. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to visit whenever they are in town and if the Big Apple Circus 🎪 is open because I believe it’s a seasonal event but I’m not sure, you can Google it just to be sure and for more info. The bathroom was outdoors though and it was freezing in NYC that day so bear in mind that you will need a nice jacket to keep you warm. My daughter is 12 and she was very happy with the show from start to finish. It’s a very kid friendly show that parents along with their children will definitely enjoy watching. There’s also a concession area where you can take pics, buy food and gifts and merchandise from the show. You will also see the actors walking by in the concession area (picnic area) where they would take pics with the kids or anyone who asks for a photo. The actors were very nice and social and the staff were very professional and helpful. Enjoyed every minute of this experience and recommend everyone to go see it especially with the kids. You...
Read moreI stopped by in the middle of a weekday when the park was near empty. I started to kick around my soccer ball by myself at a corner of the park then a security guard came and sarcastically told me to stop. Instead of just telling me I’m not allowed to kick my ball, the guard approached me with “go to Central Park for that! Do you see any monkey bars? It’s not that type of park!”. Those were his exact words. Last I checked this is a public park and when I read the rules on the sign there is no rule stating that ball playing is not allowed. So I got kicked out of a public park in the middle of the day for doing something that is completely allowed according to park rules. I’ll be going back to kick my ball. I would’ve stayed last time but the security guard killed my mood. They can call the cops if...
