I called around 10pm on a Sunday and was told a fleet member would come within an hour and a half to tow my vehicle and me off the side of the Harlem River drive about two hours later I hadn’t heard anything and called back I was then told it would be another two hours until someone could come. Instead of waiting for four hours total I was told I could leave the car with the key in it unlocked and someone would tow it within the hour. Instead of having my car and me towed to my home I had to pay $60 for an Uber. When I got home I received a call from a tow driver saying he was at the car but because I wasn’t there he couldn’t tow it although it had been marked as unattended. I then got a call from dispatch saying there were no tow drivers available and that no one had even called a driver in the first time I called. I knew there was a driver available because there was one at my car ten minutes before dispatch called to tell me there weren’t any. She said there would be no drivers for the whole night and that there was no lot or mechanic where my car could be towed even if there were. My car was left unlocked overnight with the key in it by triple aaa after I’d waited hours for a tow. I was lied to multiple times about the availability of drivers and lots where my car could be towed. In the morning a driver came and again told me it was not marked as unattended and I would have to go and meet him over an hour and a half from my home. It was the third time I had been told it was noted as unattended to then be told by a tow driver it was not marked as unattended. I then also received a parking ticket because aaa left my car overnight in a spot I’d been in when I was told they would be towing it within the hour. After over 10 phone calls each with a hold time of 10-20 minutes it was 2:30am and aaa had given me no idea of when or where or how my car would be towed. The only helpful person was the driver of the final tow truck who was able to find and tow the car on...
Read moreAbsolutely worst service I've ever experienced in my entire life! 10 years of fees wasted. After 10 years of service at the premium level I was denied a tow for a motorcycle because I had just moved, and the new NYC club didn't register our previous motorcycle coverage. After 45 minutes on the phone all they could say was "it looks like you renewed online and motorcycle didn't transfer, you have to call an agent to get motorcycle transferred", how would we ever know that? We're military and move about every 2 years, so we just transfer online each time, no one ever stated we had to call in to an agent for motorcycle specifically. Even better, they said I could pay the motorcycle fee for NYC BUT, it would take 72 hours to go through before they could get me a tow. I've been a member for 10 years, my bike is broken down on the side of the road, and there's no way to get a tow for 3 days!?! I saw an article about how they're hemorrhaging money, and this right here is exactly why. Even after being escalated the "senior" response agent couldn't care less about the situation. 10 years of renewals...
Read moreI have had a tough experience trying to update my RealID to my new married last name at this AAA location. They rejected my application on the basis that my marriage certificate "didn't look official enough," when in reality it is an official marriage certificate provided to me by the court in the town that I was married in. I explained this to them on the phone (and the person who helped me on the phone was very nice and trying her best to be helpful), but they basically said there is not much they can do about it because they are not the actual DMV. Today, I returned for another appointment and again left disappointed and with my issues unresolved. It shouldn't be this hard to get a new license with my new married last name after getting married. I was hopeful that going to AAA for DMV services would be simpler and more pleasant, but I would sadly recommend going to a real DMV instead -- because if you run into some kind of issue or they don't like the look of your official paperwork, there's not a lot they can do...
