Great playground! On the Hudson near 158 street. This playground is large with a lot of unique water features sprayers, large sandbox, cool looking little slides for kids, secluded inside many large trees with plenty of shade. The playground is next to a few soccer fields. There is also picnic tables nearby and you can also Grill for BBQ. If you are not familiar with the area it can be a little difficult to find, best way is to walk on 158 street towards West side Highway, walk down ramp or stairs near basketball court under road then walk north about 100 yards.

The playground itself is fantastic. There is a mini zipline that the kids love, a spiderweb, sandbox and sprinklers. Plenty of shade and the beautiful view of the river and the gw bridge. The only drawbacks are the long walk to he park and no toilets but other than that it's perfect. In the park along the river there are grilling stations and volleyball courts, basket ball courts and biking trails. Everything you could want in a park.

A bit out of the way but very nice, relatively new playground with sprinklers, and nice views of the Hudson when approaching from the north. Best during off peak hours, loud crowds when you would expect them.

The park has alot of potential. I love that it's never crowded during the week days.

However I dont like that on early mornings I have seen several dog owners close the gate and have their dogs running around the park peeing everywhere. I have had to literally wait outside of the park, for the dog owners to put their pets on a leash, get their belongings and leave. During those times, I dont enter the park because the owners let their dogs run around the park freely without their leashes. Take your dogs to a dog park! I have seen several dogs in the sand area that is intended for children and not pets.

In the summer, the sprinklers are barely on. Ive gone several times within the last 3 years and its only been on twice, out of the several times we have gone.

The wooden play area needs a renovation. Theres a few steps missing and it looks like its falling apart.

Also, The park does not...

Beautiful playground in the heart of Washington heights with beautiful views of the Hudson River, NJ and the George Washington bridge. Great for picnics, BBQ, playing sports: baseball, soccer, tennis and basketball. It has a long nature trail for walking, jogging and a bike path. You can also see the Amtrak pass by. Great for dog walks too. At the end of the day everyone has a blast in this park. I would highly recommend it to everyone. It serves many needs...
