I think this place offers the best views to the Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge. It is quie safe area at least if you visit before midnight. And you should visit after the dark for the citylights though the sunset behind the downtown could also be stunning. I usually enter the area from Jay street and walk along the East river shore Via Manhattan Bridge lookout, Pebble beach and Jane's Carousel. You want an iconic background of New York City on your next trip? This is one of the spots to visit.

The plaza provides some of the best views of lower Manhattan. Walking along the water is so calming and inviting. There are only a few locations I visit multiple times for photography and this is one of them. I have yet to create a bad image here.
