Five Stars Aren’t Enough

I just had the best massage of my life with Max at Plaza M Spa.

After battling an on-and-off migraine for over a week, I finally used a Christmas gift card I’d been holding onto — and it was so worth the wait. I only had time for a 45-minute session, but Max made every minute count.

From the very beginning, he was incredibly attentive. He focused on my neck, shoulders, head, and spine with a level of precision and care that felt almost intuitive. There were hot stones, yes, but also techniques I’ve never experienced before — one of which felt like his fingers were somehow working under my shoulder blade (which I’ve heard of but never thought possible). It released tension I didn’t even know I had.

I was honestly nervous that a head massage might trigger more migraine pain, but instead it brought surprising relief. And when Max worked along my spine, it felt like he was guiding built-up pressure — almost like tiny air bubbles — out and away, one vertebra at a time. The sensation was oddly satisfying, like something was being gently cleared and reset.

I left feeling lighter, clearer, and genuinely grateful.

I booked a pedicure with the "callous removal" add on for a pre-tip total of $61. After taking a look at my sad cracked heels, my manicurist let me know what was possible for her to achieve. I really really appreciate that she was honest and gave me realistic expectations, and prioritized my safety. Also, she looked at the polish color I chose and let me know that it was a very sheer color and confirmed that that's what I wanted. I appreciate that she was thoughtful and thorough and wasn't just going through the motions. I loved the professionalism of the staff and the relaxing atmosphere. Many of the other patrons, who seemed like regulars, brought their laptops and worked through their pedicures, so if that's what you're trying to do, seems like it's socially acceptable to do so here! Plaza M is on the luxe side, which is reflected in its pricing and spacious layout, and is not your run of the mill nail salon, so come if you're looking to be pampered. My technician did my entire gel manicure in haste and cut my cuticles very roughly, to the point that she broke my skin and I started to bleed. When I brought it to her attention, she wiped the blood away with the buffer, and said it was due to my sensitive skin. 24 hours later, my skin is still irritated and because the cut is right at my nail bed, it is not healing. I paid for this manicure in full and was offered no refund or discount.
