This dealership is combined with Cadillac, so I’m also leaving a review here to warn others.
Extremely Disappointing Experience
I had a scheduled appointment to pick up a new Cadillac and was asked to complete all paperwork ahead of time. For several days leading up to the appointment, I repeatedly asked for final pricing, but was told each time that “the manager would go over everything in person.”
Despite having a confirmed appointment, I ended up waiting over four hours, constantly reassured that I was “next” and it would only be “30 more minutes.” After two hours, I asked for the keys to my trade-in and said I would return another time. Instead, I was told they were eager to finish the deal since it was the end of the month, and that everything was ready to go. But even then, it took another two hours just to speak with someone.
When I was finally seen, the price we had discussed—supposedly including everything except taxes, the doc fee, and the first month’s payment—suddenly included a $1,500 destination charge, which is already part of the vehicle’s MSRP. When I pointed this out, I was told I was mistaken and that it’s “separate on a lease.” A quick online search confirmed this is a deceptive tactic known as “double freight.”
They also made it seem like they were doing me a favor by waiving one fee (“admin fee”) but still charging another (“bank fee”) which are often just renamed versions of the same thing. The worst part wasn’t even the shady fees—it was the complete lack of integrity and disregard for my time. I spent over nine hours there due to avoidable delays, evasive answers, and last-minute surprises.
Bottom line: If you’re considering this dealership, be extremely cautious. Ask for everything in writing ahead of time, double-check every number, and prepare to spend your entire day there. Transparency and respect for your time should be standard—unfortunately, they...
Read moreI visited this dealership to inspect a 2023 Tesla Model Y listed on Cargurus for $35,777 with over 4,000 miles. I took time off work and drove six hours to see the vehicle. After extensive negotiations, I agreed on a price of $35,250 with the sales representative, Edina Music. During negotiations, Edina requested a $1,000 deposit to secure the deal. I specifically asked if I could take the car home, and after consulting her sales manager, Travis, she confirmed I could.
Before running my credit check, I again confirmed with Edina that I would be able to take the car home. She assured me this was the case. However, after my credit was approved, she and the sales manager informed me that I could not take the car home due to the absence of the title. This miscommunication was extremely frustrating, especially after spending five hours at the dealership.
To add to my frustration, they presented an APR rate of nearly 9% from TD Bank, while my own bank, Chase, offered 6%. I decided to leave and requested a day to finalize my decision. Before leaving, Edina provided her cell number. The following day, I tried to finalize the deal but received no response from Edina or the dealership, even after leaving messages.
When I returned to the dealership, Travis, the sales manager, assured me Edina would contact me, but I received no follow-up. Meanwhile, the dealership re-listed the car on Cargurus for $37,777. Six days later, Edina called back, stating the deal was ready but insisted I use their financial institution to proceed, aiming for higher profit. She mentioned other Teslas available soon at similar prices.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise against purchasing a car from this dealership. Their lack of transparency and communication, along with attempts to manipulate financing, make them untrustworthy. There are many other reputable dealerships on Northern Blvd worth...
Read moreIn response to Empire GMC's reply, note that General Motors Executive Repsonse team was involved and directly reached out to Empire GMC, who refused to make any amends citing the lack of a prior service visit since purchasing the vehicle.
Original Review: Sales and service leave much to be desired.
Sales ... all done over the phone. Numbers discussed and agreed, etc. Leave deposit. When we show up to finalize, numbers were increased. Vehicle front trim was popped out. Later learned there was also substandard touch up painting done.
When looking to buy out, couldn't get any info. Why? Vehicle was in their service department for over 2 months and Sales said to wait.
Service ... the two months should explain it all. I didn't want to bring it there because of other reviews and the poor Sales experience, but as it was defective paint, GMC told me to bring it there. For the first month, they didn't do anything. They also refused to provide any updates or even a person with any knowledge of the whereabouts of the vehicle. I called for weeks to try and get an update. Finally the service manager called back. Then it was another mess, one a month. First time the car came back, they didn't do anything, second time the car was brought back but the parking sensors were messed up. The only plus was that after the first screw up, they picked up and dropped the car off for the two subsequent trips.
Vehicle had 15k miles and management says they don't want to provide any comp because the vehicle was never in for service before.
Avoid this dealership.
GM was also subpar in assistance. Also, them not willing to honor their warranty through more local and reputable service centers is 100% b.s.
Although I bought out this vehicle (directly), it may very well be the last GM I buy. I've had 9 GM vehicles across Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC...
