Green Village Supermarket — Attraction in New York

The employees take their job a little too seriously, especially the black “security guard” when it comes to the bag or shopping cart rule. Like they won’t even let you come in with bags you’re using your groceries for, you have to drop it off when you walk in then grab it at checkout 😭 Besides all that, i came in here a few weeks ago and not even 2 seconds coming in, the “security guard” at the front is on me about a little plastic bag you could barely fit a water bottle in. Let me just say, I don’t like it here because they’re always so rude but I came that day just to grab something small to eat in the freezer aisle. I made it there and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Two mice running across the aisle in opposite directions. I was so disgusted. The floor in that aisle was also filthy too so I just wanted to give a tip to the workers; instead of worrying about your loyal customers stealing when they’re not, clean your store!!! Also, hire employees with better attitudes. Managers included. I never exited a store so fast in my life. I think I spent maybe 20 seconds after witnessing that. Please do not shop here if you want a nice, relaxing and clean...

Pros: -Good variety of meat and seafood options. They also have cultural items/foods that other commercial supermarkets might not traditionally sell.

Cons: EXPIRED FOODS/ MOLDY VEGETABLES

More than once have I caught this supermarket conveniently COVERING the dates on they're packaged/ contained foods as a means to sell ppl expired foods. This is actually illegal!! One time I was shopping for some milk and I had to peel back the stickers off NINE cartons until I found one that wasn't expired. Another time I had to take some pop tarts back because I didn't look at the date beforehand.

-Rude staff. They shut everything down earlier than they're supposed to. On a day they were advertised to close at 9pm, I came in after work at 820pm. While trying to select some fresh herbs and veggies, one of the workers CLOSED THE SCREEN DOWN ON ME in the midst of shopping. There was another instance where I needed to grab some bananas while one of the employees happened to be stocking them. He literally wouldn't move and then caught an attitude when I said...

This place burns A LOT of incense SO MUCH that the food I bought home had that smell on it. From the produce to the packaged food I am just hoping I can wash off and cook away that smell. Imagine your food tasting like the actual store you bought it from?!. My home smelled like the store all day today I couldn’t close my cabinets with the food inside I had to leave them open to try to air it out. This is just so disappointing. PLEASE STOP BURNING INCENSE BECAUSE THAT INCENSE ALSO LEAVES A INVISIBLE “FILM” ON THE FOOD FROM THE SMOKE! Man I wish I would’ve went to another store to buy my produce but I will not come back to that store until they stop or at least cut WAYYY DOWN on the incense. Just imagine that invisible film from the incense smoke all over your food?! Please there has to be a better way to deal with the meat smell you are trying...
