Aight.... The process to make a reservation was extremely annoying. Over a week, I tired via Google and via rest, had to call several times, and finally was able to do it manually. The dates weren't available for ANY time slot and they kept assuring me it was available. I'm pretty sure we didn't NEED a reservation but just wanted to make sure just in case. It turned .e off from wanting to but everyone had already agreed on the spot. Reading mixed reviews also turned me off from going BUT I'm glad I came and saw for myself. The atmosphere is LOUD. If you're trying to have a serious conversation or a private one, it's unlikely over the music (DJ did his thing though, so we were like ok we'll talk later, enjoy the vibes). The service was great and the food was definitely worth it. One of my friends is VERY picky as was raving about the oxtail. I had the lamb and we shared drink pitchers, wings, and shrimp which were great. If you're a lightweight, don't get the pitcher. We shared two of them between four of us. In terms of price.... It was $400 and change for 4 of us, $140 was on drink pitchers (kinda crazy but..... You know there's no price on a girl's night out). Yes it's in the hood, security will check your bags (and I hope nobody gets a pass, if you know, you know). I'd spin the block on velvet room, especially if they had some daily specials or something.

We had a reservation but, unfortunately, missed the 15-minute grace period. Luckily, they do allow walk-ins, but let me tell you---- this place is small and definitely fills up fast, so reservations are a must if you want the full dining experience. Because we arrived late, I can only personally speak on the drinks/appetizer.... but that Crispy Bang Bang Shrimp? Chef's kiss. I also had a few of their cocktails and they were top-tier. Bonus points: they offer hookah too, which adds to the vibe. As well as TVs showing the sport games. Before we left, I chatted with a few patrons who had entrees. The Pusha T sliders came highly recommended, and so did the catfish; though a little sauce on the side, like tartar, would really elevate it--- from what they said. The bathrooms were semi-clean and stocked (it was a Wednesday night), and the bartenders---shout out to Ashley and Lissy. They were super attentive. Even the bouncer was on site (ACE), making sure everyone felt safe and cared for. Great energy overall! Will return.

If you’re looking for a cozy spot with a warm ambiance, great music, and incredible food, this restaurant is a must-visit. The atmosphere is inviting, with dim lighting and tasteful decor that makes you feel right at home. The live band adds a fantastic touch, playing a mix of soothing and upbeat tunes that enhance the dining experience without being overwhelming. The menu is a true delight, featuring a variety of dishes that are not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavor. Every bite is a testament to the chef’s dedication to quality and freshness. The service is just as impressive—attentive, friendly, and always ready to offer recommendations. Whether you’re out for a romantic dinner, a casual night with friends, or just looking to unwind with great food and music, this place is a hidden gem worth discovering!

We had an 8:30pm reservation, the traffic was insane since we were traveling so far. When we knew we weren’t going to make it we called the restaurant and the phone went to voicemail. Finally, we were able to speak to someone that confirmed that we could change the time from 8:30 to 9pm. We arrived, The woMAN security guard with the durag was a liar. We arrived at the establishment at 9:09 and she told us that we missed our reservation which was odd because we were told that we have a 10 min grace period. We traveled OVER an hour to patronize this establishment and because they are OVERBOOKING we were not able to be accommodated. The security guard even said “that’s why they not getting in” like how is that professional. The owner MO came out and said “I just got here let me see what I can do” he went inside and came back shaking his head saying no(we had been outside for almost an hour now). He then explained that we had a 15 min grace period which we told him we were there before that and still not seated. The message between the owner and the Woman managing the reservation was not the same and she told us it was 10mins grace period he said 15mins. There were other people that came after us that were late for their reservation as well but they allowed them inside. It’s very disappointing that customers are treated this way especially since we went out of our way to come this far. I really hope y'all do better with communication in this establishment and not just pass the blame. Remember word of mouth goes a long way. All of this on my friends BIRTHDAY is a disappointment to say the...

My party of 8 went to this establishment on a Sunday. We had a 3 PM reservation. We were all there on time (a few people were early). We were all seated on time. Please keep in mind brunch starts at 1 PM on Sundays. One of the guests ordered oxtails. The server told him that the oxtails would not be ready for 2 hours. So he ordered something else. I ordered chicken and waffles and another of my guests ordered the same thing. Another group of 3 people came in after us at the table next to us. After we placed our order, the food came out at different times. We got the appetizers with the entree's in some cases. I got my chicken and waffles but my nephew did not get his. We were advised that the dishes are made to order. Well if that was the case, how did the table that came after us get their chicken and waffles before my nephew that was sitting with me. Needless to say my birthday celebration was awkward because we couldn't share a meal together because we couldn't get our food together. One person never got his food because we had been there 3 hours and some of us had finished our food already and he didn't want to wait any longer. One person asked for hers to go because when she got it, it was cold and we were ready to leave because it had been 3 hours already. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GO TO THIS PLACE IF THEY NEED TO PREPARE MORE THAN ONE DISH PER 30 MINUTES. Velvet Room is a...

Stumbled upon this place on my IG feed… made a reservation as requested, arrived right on time. The place is really small n it was packed with a few seats at the bar. After waiting to be seated i was asked 3 times if i had a reservation by 3 different people.. finally was offered a seat at the bar… ok as i drove pretty far i just wanted to eat, drink n vibe…..the music was jammingggg, bartendar took a few minutes to get us a menu to scan… we finally order drinks n appetizer.. i ordered the poundtown, my friend order a lemon drop both were reallyyyy GOOD…we ordered the shrimp mac n cheese n the lemon pepper wings!! OMG GOOD… for brunch we ordered… the blue waffle with lobster n shrimp n the cheese grits, salmon n shrimp it came in huge martini glass ( lol) both did not disappoint!!! We sat at the bar for over 2 hours n the people seated when i came never got up to leave… i guess there is no time limit on a table… next time i will leave my coat n my car.. people kept bumping my chair n brushing up againt my coat making it fall on the ground. That was sooo annoying. Ooo a dj did come but i enjoyed the music that was playing before he came… he played soooo much soca n the switched to trap n rap.. im old school i dont listen to glorilla. It was time to go after that played!!! I support alot od black owned business… this place is a vibeeeeeeee…. I went for brunch on a sunday my bill was over $300....
