Holy Cross Church — Attraction in New York

A wonderful historic Roman Catholic church. Undergoing beautiful restoration (2019) The clergy and congregation's very warm and welcoming. The church gets many out-of-town visitors as the Port Authority Bus Terminal is right across 42nd Street.

I was visiting from out of town and went to this church out of convenience but I had such a lovely time! Everyone was very welcoming, the priest had visitors stand and I got many individual welcomes from people afterward even when getting on the bus. The cantor had a stunning voice, the entire parish participated in the music and the priest gave a very kind and encouraging homily. Great church. I had served here for about a year as a lector and minister of communion at the daily 730am mass before leaving the RCC to become an Evangelical Christian. The church is run by the Capuchin Franciscans who are a great bunch of people, and I feel reflect a more spiritual approach than a diocesan parish.
