We stayed here and thought we got a good deal. Hilton will forever be a favorite; however during our stay we were not told upon check in we needed to call the front desk and let them know we need our room cleaned. We thought this was something that would naturally happen when you are staying for at least 4 days. So we did not have our room cleaned the first day. The 2nd day we asked for our room to be cleaned and they did. :) But left the trash when I placed it on the table to be taken out but I guess since it was not placed on the floor it was left untouched. The 2nd night our a/c was not blowing cool air. It seems like when it's the summer time per the front desk the hire up the room the more hot the room will be. We were on the 12th floor. I think there were 30+ floors at this particular hotel. On our 3rd night we asked for a wakeup call b/c we had to catch our flight in the morning. They stated yes, will call and they do wake up calls. Well guys there was not a wake up call but glad we had a backup with our phones but it was the principal behind it. There is a Frames Urban cool place bowling alley which has some good food and drinks, the vibe is perfect. There is a doubletree next door that has a rooftop we experienced the first night but was not able to experience the 2nd night b/c the elevator guy on the first floor allowed a group of us to go up and then we get there and 2 guys stated we couldn't get it and told us and the other strangers to come back at midnight. the place was empty so if it wasn't an option then the person on the Lower Level should know what is going on via the rooftop when they don't feel like letting people enjoy the roof. Departing and Arriving they were friendly. Oh if you are a coffee drinker the coffee maker only worked 1 days while we were there. So find something else to drink. They do however, have flavored water in the front. You are about a good 15 minutes walk from Times Square. Find a closure hotel unless you don't mind spending the money for mediocre service. spend another $2-300 for a better place. Maybe when you see the picture it may not look like it's trash that needed to be removed. *** The way this hotel is positioned you do not have a remote view of any Time Square lights **** You will need to stay between 47-49th St ****

A Truly Wonderful Stay, Thanks to Robbie and the Amazing Team! We recently stayed at the Distrikt Hotel NYC in Manhattan, and I can confidently say the hospitality we received was nothing short of exceptional—especially thanks to Robbie, the concierge. As someone who currently works at Walt Disney World and has a background in hotels, I was blown away by Robbie’s energy, passion, and dedication to creating magical guest experiences. He truly embodies the kind of world-class service you’d expect from a place like Disney. From the moment we arrived, Robbie made us feel celebrated. He asked if we were celebrating anything (which surprisingly doesn’t happen often at most hotels), and once he learned it was our anniversary, he went out of his way to make it special. Every time we passed by the front desk, he checked in with us, asked about our plans, and gave fantastic local recommendations. His upbeat personality and genuine care made a huge difference in our stay. Zaida, the front desk supervisor, was also absolutely wonderful—professional, kind, and warm. She made sure we were well cared for, especially when we offered feedback. It’s clear she takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for all guests. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and definitely deserving of its four-star rating. The housekeeping team was also amazing—respectful of our schedule (we like to sleep in!) and made sure our room was cleaned during the window when we were out. Even if we didn’t leave until 11 a.m. or noon, the room was always spotless when we returned in the afternoon. If I had to point out one area for improvement, it would be the hotel restaurant’s food quality. While the bar drinks were excellent and the bartenders were friendly, the food didn’t quite match the rest of the experience. It seemed more like a management issue in terms of what’s being offered and how it’s prepared. Since there’s a $29 food & beverage credit included in the resort fee, it would be great to see the food quality better reflect that value. That said, I would absolutely stay at the Distrikt Hotel again—especially because of Robbie and Zaida. Their outstanding service truly made our trip unforgettable. Hilton is lucky to have them.

After reading all the reviews, I was really skeptical about this hotel. I was especially weary about the elevator since so many reviews mentioned it breaking down. I'll cover the good, so-so and bad in this review. Good: I asked for a room facing the back and it was incredibly quiet, despite being next to the elevator. I never waited more than 45 seconds for an elevator and both were working! Although not close to my daughter, it was easy to hop on the 7th Avenue bus heading south - I stopped at fabric stores, Jack's and Lots for Less, among other places. Port Authority is hardly as bad as it was when I visited as a college student in the late 1970s! The lemon water in the lobby was much appreciated! Thanks to Hotwire, this hotel was a bargain by NYC standards. So-so: Unlike other reviewers, I found the majority of the front desk personnel to be unfriendly. Checking in was a bit better, but the girl at the desk when I checked out was the coldest, unfriendliest person I have ever encountered at any hotel! Resort Fee: This was a bit of a rip-off, but it did go towards unbelievably overpriced food. One day I was charged $3.50 for a Kind bar and the nest day it was $4.00. I enjoyed the Cappuccino, but the bagel sandwich was so dry I almost gagged. A tiny bit of butter would have made all the difference. Unfortunately, this is an incredibly narrow hotel so there are only a few rooms per floor. The second night, rude guests slammed doors at least five times at 1 am. Bad: The worst shower I have ever had the misfortune to use. The water trickled out, the head was too high to adjust and there were no adjustments anyway to the water stream. The bed wasn't comfortable and the pillows made a rustling sound like they were made of plastic. Really surprised some people mentioned the comfortable bedding! TV kept going out - I figured out that the electric plug was loose, but it kept falling out despite my plugging it back. This must have happened no less than 45 times.

The location was great and the rooms were clean. We felt safe and comfortable. We received a $20 credit to the restaurant daily which was nice.

I’m rating low for 3 reasons.

The evening staff at the restaurant was more concerned with chatting and serving their friends drinks than attending the customers. We wouldn’t have cared about her chatting with her friends if they weren’t so clearly understaffed, she attended to the actual customers first and was faster but she was very slow making drinks. They also had very few options on the menu actually in stock. Out of all the options they only had mozzarella sticks and soft pretzels. We went with the pretzels but they failed to mention they ran out of the dipping sauce when we ordered it. We wouldn’t have gotten that, if we knew.

We followed the hotel rules and requested fresh towels before 10AM. I had 2 guests on the room but they only brought up 1 full size towel and 1 towel you put on the floor. This wouldn’t have been that big of deal if the guy dropping off the towels didn’t insist we give him our dirty towels. Don’t get me wrong, he was nice. Just wouldn’t leave until we gave him the dirty towels. Of course we discover that we weren’t given a full size towel until that night when we wanted to shower so my husband went downstairs and the front desk attendant seemed annoyed and said she’d bring it up to the room. She brings us 1 towel and again, it’s the size of the towel you put on the floor. I guess they were out of clean full sized towels? We gave up after that. Not sure what the deal was with the towels but we wouldn’t have given the dude our used towels if we knew it was going to be such an ordeal.

Last issue that I am most frustrated about is we reserved a room with a Queen sized bed. When I tried to check in on my phone, there were no rooms available to select from but said the hotel would assign when we arrived. We get there, get our keys and go up to our room. Surprise, we have a king sized bed. OK cool, free upgrade because they ran out of rooms with Queen sized beds, maybe? Nope. They charged me for the upgrade and I didn’t know until we got home that night and reviewed the receipt emailed to me. I don’t understand how they can charge me with the upgrade when I didn’t sign or consent to any of the changes. I called the hotel and selected the option for billing issues which sent me to corporate. They said the hotel needed to investigate and would get back to me in 2 days. 8 days later, still haven’t heard anything. I plan to call tomorrow.

Honestly, issue #1 could be resolved by not giving out the $20 credits to the restaurant. You could also take mixed drinks and cocktails off the menu because that slowed the bartender down significantly, while she chatted. Also could take hot food off the menu or anything that requires food prep until you hire more people. Idk what the deal was with issue #2 but personally, I would have rather not had the fresh towels than 2 floor towels and a full size towel. Issue #3, if you run out of the rooms the guest booked with their reservation then upgrade them for free as it’s no fault of the guest.

I will be calling...

Worst hotel stay I have ever had in New York. The rooms are too small. They look larger in the pictures than they are in person. I found it quite cramped in the small space, and if you are going to stay here, I encourage you to travel light due to the lack of storage and space. The view from the rooms on the higher floors is not great, but not terrible. You get sort of a half of a city view. The lower floors have no view, as it is blocked by the bus terminal next door.

Front desk service is terrible. I was absolutely disgusted with the service we received. We were falsely accused of smoking in our room during our stay. We have NEVER smoked in a hotel and never would. That sort of behavior is disgusting, rude, and goes against the policy of pretty much every hotel in the country. I do not know why or how they chose to make this false accusation, but I was outraged and insulted. They went as far as to say that any further complaints would result in me being charged some sort of fee. I explained to the front desk that we have never smoked in the hotel and will not be paying any fees regardless of what false accusations they claim to have received in complaints. The guy at the front desk then said "okay, so there's no more smoking in the room?", ignoring everything I had just said and effectively once again accusing me of having smoked in the room. I AGAIN explained that no, there was NEVER any smoking in the room to begin with. He then went cand got the manager, who was the woman who initially checked us into our room. I explained to her that we had never smoked in the room and never will be smoking in the room. She then claimed that it was just a warning that they gave to everyone on our floor because there had been a complaint of smoking on our floor (a claim I highly doubt, seeing as the letter clearly stated I would be charged if there were further complaints, and it would make no sense to charge every room on the floor for a complaint that someone was smoking). She did not at any point apologize for the false accusation. Nobody ever apologized to us for this outrageous accusation. It ruined my entire stay.

Furthermore, the front desk also failed to send up extra pillows when they were requested, so we had to request multiple times.

It is also quite annoying that the hotel charges a daily fee that they "reimburse" through credit for their mediocre hotel bar. It seems like a bit of a scammy gimmick to force hotel patrons to use their crappy bar. The good thing is you can use the credit for things like snacks and water bottles, but it did feel like a waste of my money for no reason.

The hotel itself is cramped but relatively decent and in a great location. The service is atrocious. For how expensive the hotel is, I would not stay here, as you do not get much for what...

So we have been here 5 years ago as a couple but thought it would be nice to come to NYC with our children and stay in the same hotel as it was very nice last time. Unfortunately the same cannot be said this time.

When we arrived we were told that our family room wasnt available as they had over booked and that we were being split into two rooms. Now this is all well and good but this trip was booked over a year ago !! , why were we split up when clearly there were double rooms , surely with us booking over a year ago this situation shouldn't have happened. We then had to go through paying the "Daily Mandatory Destination Charge" , just another way of rinsing money for you on top of what you have paid. It did seem at the time the receptionist didn't have a clue what he was doing , all we kept hearing was "use it or lose it" from him when we were paying the charge" maybe it was for the two coffee pods we had for the whole week in our room for the coffee machine , or the complementary coffee we weren't told about downstairs in the bar.

We then had to cart all our bags up to our room , it seems as if porter service has disappeared , the rooms were exactly the same as they were 5 years ago , quite tired. The room me and my son had a tv that was smashed and didn't work which I reported, it also had green stuff stuck all over the ceiling which christ knows what it was. The cleaner to be fair worked very hard and we had clean towels every day bless her.

So on our last day in the morning my Revolut visa card suddenly card shows $1095 payment pending from my account , I had the shock of my life. I went to reception and asked what was going on and they couldn't work out why I was being charged $1095. I was very upset by this as the last day of our holiday I was treating my kids to shopping and I was now in a position where my account was almost wiped out by this pending charge. I was asked to come back which we did after breakfast and I suggested it was because we had been split up and we were now being charged for an extra room, this was found to be correct by another member of staff. I was then told that we only actually owed $114 but the pending charge would not be corrected for at least 2 days (which it was when we got home to the UK) . This basically ruined our last day as we had no money. Both my wife and I were left stressed and angry , it took the shine off our trip , all we got was "Sorry about that it was our mistake"

We put our faith in The Distrikt hotel after visiting 5 years ago but this time we feel very...
