Edit: changed my rating from 2 stars to 1 star, because the more time that passes, the more I realize how absolutely unacceptable my experience here was.
Normally, this place does a decent job, but mostly only for colds and viruses, however…
Recently, I went in for a foot/leg problem. They took an x-ray, saw no broken bones, and diagnosed me with a mild sprain. They bandaged me up and told me to go home, and it wasn’t until another medical professional saw me LIMPING out of the office, that they decided to give me crutches.
Turns out, I had a complete rupture of my Achilles. These doctors made it seem like I was just sprained, and they were going to, I repeat, let me leave LIMPING out of there.
I have cried a lot, because in the time it took me to finally get seen by a podiatrist and be accurately diagnosed, my Achilles healed itself improperly. If the Urgent Care people would’ve taken more time to listen to my story, take me seriously, and actually feel the back of my leg… they could’ve caught this. I thought the doctor was acting kind of distant (like not really listening to me well), but I didn’t think he would actually be doing such a bad job listening that he would screw up something this important.
I can’t quite transmit the feeling of being a very very good sprinter (I ran 100s growing up and now play soccer), to now not knowing if my tendon even has a fair chance of healing.
This is seriously not okay, and it really saddens me that my situation wasn’t treated with utmost seriousness. I may only be another patient to them, but this is only one of two...
Read moreSuch a scamming company. Advise everyone to AVOID visiting them. I paid a visit because of a fever and finger infection. They made you sign a waiver whereas merely telling you “the base visit rate will be $125”. On the waiver you sign, it states “you’re likely to be billed more if your case is determined as medium or high” . However there’s no clear language on the waiver about how they categorize low, medium, or high. And I assumed my case would be low. (Which was later confirmed by the receptionist here but got contradicted by the billing management on my phone call later) They billed me another $125 after the visit, and when I called their billing customer service, someone said “because you had a prescription so it’s medium, so you were charged $250 in total” I asked her what would be a “low case”, she said “without prescription or treatment, which I have yet to seen one” So basically 99% of the visits to cityMD would be more than $250 but they will never tell you in the first place. I think their receptionists were being instructed to say “the base rate is $125” without clarifying that’s technically not going to happen. I would’ve never continued the visit if I knew it’s going to be $250 instead of $125. The utter non transparent information makes cityMD purely an evil Corp intending to capitalize to the maximum of your urgent need in case of an emergency walk in and intentionally and purposefully hiding information beforehand in order to profit to their gains afterwords. Most disgusting corporate business mode I’ve encountered so...
Read moreJune 20, 2021 on 345 W 42nd St was a complete waste of my time! Too many young untrained ladies at the front desk that can’t read and know what they are doing. I told the girl with the braided blue hair and long neon green nails. I need everything done on this page except a fit test. It was clearly marked drug test on the paper. Apparently, you have to take the drug test as soon as enter in the building you cannot go to the back room and then take your drug test. Once I questioned the PA about my drug test, oh we can’t do it you didn’t tell them at the front desk. I didn’t think I had to have it stapled on my chest so it can be read I need a drug test done. No, that person messed up at the front desk and now I have to come back because of her screw up. Now getting to the PA who couldn’t sign my physician statement. She wasted my time too. We prefer for you to go to your primary care doctor. Well I don’t have one. I’m 18 hours away from home and I’m needing clearance for my next job. Instead of telling me there are other locations that can sign she didn’t. She just left it there. Luckily, there is another CityMD that will sign my form due and I made mention to that the PA stated oh yes there are locations that can sign I just can’t. I’m glad I have some common sense. Because they...
