My friends and I were super excited to visit this Sabyasachi store for months we had been planning ahead of time. We walked into a beautiful display of clutches and clothes not to mention the wall and other display/decors they had set up. Unfortunately what made the experience drastically terrible was one of the staff members that didn't make us feel welcomed. There was clearly several other customers that were there taking pictures of the beautiful decor and not to mention it has been allowed to take photos and videos as seen on google reviews. We were told we aren't allowed to take pictures while we were simply taking selfies and we were "advised" that we shouldn't only be taking photos we should be buying things. This wasn't the only time she had targeted my group of girls but she was talking down to us as if we were a group of children saying that we should be mindful of others this is a narrow hallway and be mindful of the dresses on the mannequin they're very fragile and we were "doing too much" when we simply were touching the display dresses like everyone else. She asked us if we needed help with prices when the tags clearly had prices written on them. I did feel she was bothered at seeing us looking at any of the products in general. After the 3rd or 4th time the entire experience was ruined and we felt uncomfortable being there. Mind you we could've walked out spending thousands of dollars worth of stuff if it hadn't been for the way we were treated. This is bad sabyasachi please do better and make an effort to make the experience more welcoming for everyone. Being a high end designer store needs to have a similar vibe for everyone if you expect people to like what...
Read moreI didn’t want to write a negative review but I felt I needed to even though I really admire Sabyasachi’s work. My friends and I were really looking forward to going to Sabyasachi ever since the store opened as we loved the designer’s designs and work. We finally had the opportunity to visit the store this past weekend. My friends and I were all so excited to see the accessories and clothing and were eager to learn about the prices so that we can purchase what we want when we go again next time. However, we encountered a female staff there who was very rude to my friends and I. She kept targeting us and told us to be very mindful when taking pictures. My friends and I made sure to only take pictures at the locations that we were allowed to take pictures at and also made sure to listen to their rules. However, that woman kept mentioning to us so many times over and over again about how we should not be taking pictures and made us feel like we only went there to take pictures. She indirectly made us felt insecure and made it sound like we are kids and not people of high class. She also sounded like we didn’t go there to buy and only came to take pictures and how it is a privilege that they even allowed us people to even come visit their store. Mind you she does not know about our background or anything and she should not be judging her customers like that. Sabyasachi should really look into who they hired at this location and teach them professionalism and to also treat their customers with respect. I did not expect this kind of rude behavior from a store that my friends and I really admire. Regardless of that woman, I still appreciate the glamorous and beautiful work...
Read moreThe NYC branch of Sabyasachi is a stunningly beautiful and spacious boutique. This location has a large selection of accessories on display including various types of belts, purses, clutches, and shawls, along with Indo-western ready-to-wear items as well. The back rooms have the bridal collection which includes gowns, sarees, kurtas (for men and women) and a few lenghas. All of which seem to be exclusive to only the NYC branch. My reason for taking off stars though is because of the service. While almost everyone on the staff were friendly and welcoming, my experience today with the female associate in the bridal section was horrible. She was incredibly rude and cold to all the customers in that area. She would grumble and make angry comments anytime anyone moved or touched the items (all on hangers with no signs that said do not touch). And when I asked to try on a lengha her immediate reaction was no because of a lack of fitting rooms (in contrast to all the other associates who said it was fine and all the rooms were empty). And then she asked if I looked at the price of the lengha because it would be a waste to try it on if I didn't. Her behavior seems to be on par with what I've read and heard from other people who have visited this boutique. It truly ruined my experience here. Which is a shame, because it is a gorgeous store with a great selection of...
