Wow. Now I never start my review with a statement like that but the interior design setup and decor just took me away and is to die for. Absolutely marvelously elegant with intelligent setups of what to input in any given area regardless of it's size and shape as there are many rooms however the rooms are setup with an open floor look yet can be private if needed so. The chairs are one of a kind as for into the middle eastern design and bring a sense of aristocracy as If a dining table was being set to the countries sultan or royals of any kind. The main "sitting" room incorporates a traditional Arabian lounge which consists of floor pillows and a traditional meal where one sits in the floor surrounded by luxurious plush pillows and servants at your call. This large large circle is surrounded by a continuous layout of unique dining tables each its own design all a foot above the floor setup. It looks like a huge jacuzzi but instead if tike and water it's filled with tables chairs and personal. It's so beautiful and one must see it in person so take a look at the pics and press like when you feel blown away as I did.
Also the place is filled with chandeliers and different lighting fixtures hanging on the wall engraved deep in and surrounded by mosiac tiles.
Upon entering your quickly shown the main bar which is once again in the middle of the large room shapes as an oval with an open see thru look to it. This is a luxurious Egyptian restaurant and when I meant by clean cut is that there is no silly nonsense or any decorations they are installed just to fill in space. Infact I didn't find the name of the restaurant only until I left but being on it's business card. Even the Cascade is decorated elegantly and shows no name plate of the restaurants name which in reality just fits with the overall theme and probably if what the designer had in mind. The detailing is what makes you remember places like this and a good example is the bathrooms where each customer gets his own bathroom or order room with like five setup in the far back. They have there own chandeliers mosiac walls with traditional designs and a lightening system that makes it all work toghere and fit in. Even the toilet is traditional as they use a badayete with it's wide seat and low seating level. The faucet is the same style with an elegant waterfall fixture. I wish I had more time in the place however I went in for a drink and didn't have a chance to test any food. But thst is sure to change soon as I am sure to make reservations on the next family celebration and a middle eastern restaurant will fit right in to a middle eastern family.
I believe this is my longest review but it's well deserved for the place took my breath away mostly because I wasn't expecting it and the owner or owners without a doubt left nothing behind as he didn't cut no corners and I'm assuming had an open budget because I would assume just the interior decorations with the places size in mind must have been easily oneilkion dollars.i would be intrigued to find out and I might even post that as a question to it's owners. Well enough about the design aspect. I will be sure to update my post after I grab a bite and taste that amazing Arabic food. Enjoy and...
Read more3139 My experience was not entirely pleasant. I had high expectations for this place and I thought the decoration was very nice. However, we did not have a good experience. Starting with the bathrooms that could not be closed from the inside. And to use them I had to go with someone else to wait for me at the door. But, what bothered me the most was the degrading and unpleasant attitude of a manager named “Amir”. This person showed not education and he was very disrespectful . Let me explain you this ; When I made the reservation to visit the restaurant, it said on the website that it was US$39.99 per person for January, then I saw that it was US$59.00. ( which out was ok for us ) When we arrived at the place, one of the waiters Mohammed told me that I had two options: pay 59 US per person or a la carte. There were 3 of us in my group and at the time of ordering we had decided on 2 orders of 59 US and one person a la carte. Since the third person did not require everything that included the 59 us for having stomach surgery, she could not eat that amount of food. When I took the order he told me that they all had to be 59 us (not two people paying this price and another a la carte. They had to be all a la carte or all 59 us) I explained it to the busboy and he told me that he would call the manager and I explained the situation to him and his response was: If it's okay with you or if you don’t you can GO. I think that was not the correct answer, I understand that it is the restaurant's policy, but why not explain that from the moment of the reservation? Why wait to get there and limit ourselves and impose something that someone does not want to obtain for certain reasons? . Yes, there are policies that must be explained before going and to say something like that you have to have respect for others, because no one went to beg for food or drinks. What a bad time we had. It was my intention to retire but, because it was one of the people's birthdays, I didn't want to make them have any more bad times. At the end of the night that person had to pay for something they didn't eat and order takeout. Another thing, the supposed belly dance show was very poor; We expected more, there was not much atmosphere in short, terrible service except for the busboy who was friendly.
The information about the prices not very clear . The staff were dressed up all black what gave us the impression that we’re at a funeral parlor . It was not according with that deco .
We order one glass of white wine which it was served totally warm , when it should be served chilled .
The food was not to our liking either. It's not worth paying that amount of money for such a show and food. Very very bad experience. How embarrassing. I wouldn't return to this place and have obviously not...
Read moreThe only redeeming part of this restaurant is the manager who was lovely and accommodating. I went with a group celebrating a friend’s birthday. We were seated at a table in the bar area, not the main dining room. Our waitress was incredibly rude from the start. To begin, our table was directly next to a secondary door (not the main entrance.) Cold air was coming in from under that door and we were all freezing. When we mentioned this to the waitress, her response was, “Well I’m not cold.” When we asked if someone could put something (like a towel) up against the bottom of the door to block the cold air, she said she would have to “see” and that when she asked the manager, he didn’t help. However, when a member of our party asked the manager directly, it was handled immediately. We were told that if one person ordered the prefix menu, everyone had to order it. The birthday girl wanted to order it, but one of the 3 courses was made up entirely of something I don’t eat. When I brought this up to the waitress, she wouldn’t do anything to rectify the situation. The first course was made up of a bunch of dips and came with one piece of bread per person. The bread ran out quickly but there was plenty of dip left. We asked for more bread and they charged us for it. One girl mentioned to the server that her meat was dry and asked for some sauce to put on it. She was charged $9 for the sauce. The waitress tried to upsell us on everything. When one person at the table ordered a glass of red wine, she tried to push us to order a bottle. When a few of us ordered cocktails, she tried to push us to order pitchers. Now the cocktail I ordered (that she suggested as a pitcher) cost $19 per glass. The pitcher costs $175 and contains about 8 glasses, which makes it a total ripoff. As others have mentioned, the belly dancing show lasted about 2 minutes and then we never saw her again. Yes, the decorations in the restaurant are nice, but I only know that from passing by the main dining room on the way to the bathroom. Overall, there are other Instagrammable spots in the city with far better service. Save your money and go...
