From the moment we stepped through the front door until the end of the party, Kids Fun House (KFH) staff made my daughter’s first birthday memorable. When I first stopped in to see the location unannounced, the ladies at the front desk were very knowledgeable and helpful, providing a tour, a rundown of their party packages, and answering all my questions. KFH made timely follow up calls, answered all questions and made helpful suggestions while planning. KFH has an impressive selection of themes (we chose Moana), and allowed us to substitute party extras that were unsuitable for young children with plain cheese pizzas for the adults (for example, the cake since a friend made baby a Moana cake). We also appreciated the free upgrade for booking the 10.30 a.m. slot on a Sunday.
Our Party hostess, Nita, was lovely—engaging adults and children, and keeping the party flowing based on our guests arrivals and the kids’ energy levels. I appreciated her giving us a heads up whenever we had an opportunity for more staged photos (such as in front of the cake). The kids all enjoyed the character visit from Moana, group games, and a white-light disco session. We were able to add pepperoni pies to the order same day, which our adult guests enjoyed, and the public play areas—including one for tots!—were a hit. Everyone should definitely remember to bring socks.
Some improvements I’d make for our next party: (1) I had asked for a mix of first birthday and Moana themes, which in hindsight, is mixed directions. I should have brought a big foil balloon with “1” myself. (2) I'd get more clarity about the kids' goodie bags: I supplemented KFH goodies with some toys from Oriental Trading (which Nita was fabulous about taking care of!) but next time, I'd order my own bags in place of the plastic ziploc bags. (3) Our guests started leaving (for kiddie naps) at staggered times and the cotton candy would have been welcome sooner, perhaps shortly after we left the private party room for the public play area.
Overall, we had a stellar experience with KFH and would definitely consider booking again. Thanks to the ladies at KFH for providing us with a wonderful, fuss-free first birthday party experience—baby and parents all appreciated your professionalism and flexibility, and all our guests...
Read moreMy husband and I threw our daughter’s first birthday party at Kids Fun House. We both have large families so we rented the entire facility for a private party. Our package included decorations, food for adults and kids, beverages, cotton candy, face painting, a piñata, etc. We wanted the best of the best to commemorate our daughter’s first birthday.
The staff decorated the facility beautifully and they were very accommodating to what we wanted. I chose to bring some of my own decorations and treats, which they helped me set up. They were clearly very experienced and professional.
David and Melissa were amazing! They gave us short briefings throughout the day and reminded us of each upcoming event. We had 60-70 guests to mingle with so it was very helpful for them to give us constant updates.
Being that my husband and I have large families, we have been to many play places for the birthdays of our nieces and nephews. The staff at this facility truly enjoys working with children (which unfortunately cannot be said about many other facilities). David and Melissa were very friendly to our daughter and to every single person from our massive amount of guests.
There was a large age gap of children; 1 years old to 15 years old and ALL of the children had a lot of fun at the facility. The arcades were perfect in keeping the older kids entertained. I loved that there was a play apparatus suited for toddlers and another one suited for kids.
Kids Fun House is truly the perfect place to host a kids party for all ages. The staff is so sincere and kind. They were always full of energy and smiles. You will NOT regret booking...
Read moreI'm going to offer a better alternative at the end of my review. 1st we were a little upset because of the undesired neighborhood in which it was located, 2nd they been in business for a while. So they would know which days the near by car garage is closed which was by the way Sunday. We specifically asked on the phone if there were parking accommodation near by. They said yes but they did not offer or say anything about it being closed on Sunday which I'm sure they knew. But only cared about booking us in. Street parking is terrible for us & our guests that day. They make our kids go pass all the fun activities and games to make us go to the private room and make our kids anxious let them come out of the private room for only 10 minutes to play only to have them return to the private room for pizza then have them go out again for 10 minutes and bring them back in again for the cake. How stupid was that! None of the kids or even the Adults we're having it. We hired Spider-Man figured but it was a woman inside the costume which I didn't care but it was the most flamboyant girly take on Spider-Man I've ever seen it was just awful. Now here's a better and more affordable plus better thought out place to take your toddlers to celebrate birthdays etc and its Bounce N Play located at 20-21 Steinway St in Astoria not only fun for the kids but adults to join their...
