Catania Bakery — Restaurant in New York

My exp. with customers service (cashier/counter girl) at the CATANIA. BAKERY. 64-10 FRESH POND RD. RIDGEWOOD .NY 11385 after few visits ocassionally getting a coffee. I giving one star for service , but after today service ,they did not deserve even one star! A young employees working there . Today after buying a coffee ,which was leftover 'no enough for a small cup coffee. I could smell and taste a burning coffee. When I asked for a fresh brew coffee ,which they were making for a customer who tiped them, (they had in the other pot also coffee but did not sell this customer)a girl who served me a coffee ,refused to give me a fresh. When I asked for money back she refused also . Other girl wearing a glasses helped the other girl to argue with me ,(wish a owner will be able to look at the surveillance camera tape ,that both these girls were yealling,screaming , at me with big mouth opened. I was already by the door to get out and she still, was yealling .Other girl ,who serve a coffee "her words : " then do not drink coffee" after I ask her for fresh brews coffee. What a very bad commercial for a business. They only are nice for people who tip them ,which is illegal to having a tip jar on the counter in the place like bakery and any other ,where employee hourly wage is not waitress hourly wage (which is about $ 2.25 /dinner,if I Am correct,and they mostly working for tips). These employees should learn ,how to deal with customers ,they both have bad attitude and high temper ,learn how to , be nice for all customers, not only for who tip them .. If they will be treat customers like this ,someone can have law suit with an owner . Try to avoid this bakery ,or go always with someone ,so you have eye witness ,when needed. I do not thing a survialiance camera at the bakery is working anyway. Ridgewood is European residents and businesses, but such arguing and bad attitude with high temper workers propably no one find in entire Queens ! Instead watching for tips ,they should be focused on theirs any customer service, not only who tip them ,because this is not mandatory ,to be serve at this bakery. Propably I will avoid this bakery from today Bread is good but owner should get someone who will sell nicely , be polite ,and bad attitude leave at home ,no matter if customer will tip her or not.! There is a many places who sell a coffee or cakes ,but quality won't bring a customers , if employee is rude. They will scare away , like ...

I went to Catania Bakery on fresh Pond Road. Today (Saturday) I ordered a cake, when I got to the counter there was an Asian girl (or she looked asian) this is the SECOND TIME!!!!!! I walked into this place and she has the most HORRIBLE ATTITUTE towards me. I Simpky asked her the cake is 32.00 dollars right? because that's the price the Spanish girl told me. ALL she had to do was say yes, plus the tax. OMG!!!!!! I WISH I would have recorded the way she came at me. That got me soooo Upset, I asked to speak with the man that was just in front. The Spanish girl said he stepped out. I SAID!! No he didn't. I then looked at the girl and said in case you don't know you are in a business, maybe you shouldn't be here if you can't deal with the general public. This is the Second time with this person. She cursed and said the F word, WHAT THE HELL KIND of person tgey have working in this Place. Guess what? To the owner, YOU JUST LOST A Customer who's been going to you for years. I informed my husband not to go there anymore, and I'm very popular and respected by many. I will let them know about this place and what it turned into. I bought my wedding cake from you guys . Your business will go down having workers like that there....

The screen behind counter clearly says tell us how we are doing write a review so the young lady that started taking care of me says first I can’t write a name on a cake which I was buying two I said I’ve gotten cakes here many times, she replies well I can’t I said the Spanish lady has done it so the Spanish girl decided to do it not one cake but two so I ask the si Amish girl if the other girl was the mgr she says no I say what’s her name in Spanish and she replies I can’t give names then the other girl says what’s for why do I want to leave a review I said because your monitor behind says so and why didn’t I ask her name because you were with another customer but jumps in my conversation trying to demean me especially after spending $70 on 2 small 7” cakes as I’m walking out she says write what you want, should I go on all three employees not wearing hats or hair nets violation on NYs health department, no gloves handle breads cookies or cakes

Think twice about going there and spending money where you are not valued as a customer, I called and left a message for owner to call me to address the disrespectful Athea that works there, I won’t stop now until you...
