DO NOT come here. Please, for your own safety. I’m traumatized and will never forget this horrible experience. The one star is for a few very good nurses who were professional and genuinely cared for the well-being of each patient. The emergency room was packed. All patients were separated by a curtain that was constantly being touched. My bed was bumped many times by nurses/doctors through the curtains because it was so tight between each patient. No one was checked for Covid before coming in (don't know if thats standard or not but if your immune system is already weak, it would seem to be important step for the sick to be tested). I was kept there for 24 hours before actually getting a room. There, I had numerous doctors approach and ask the same questions as to why I admitted myself. Every doctor had different orders of what I should be taking and what they believed was actually wrong with me. some of the employees contradicted each other, ie: The dietitian/some nurses told me to eat only liquid foods while a doctor/some nurses were telling me to eat solids. He rudely spoke with me about who I should be listening to and that because I was not eating solids, I should be sent to the ICU(intensive care unit). I was 100% feeling better, eating, and feeling healthy at that time. I could walk and function as good as anyone but because of their policy, I was not allowed to walk and was to be bed ridden. It was like I was being instructed to pretend that I was still very sick and incapable of doing anything on my own. Every vein in my hands/arms were compromised by all the blood I was giving and fluids I was receiving so, a couple of the nurses decided to put in a midline into a vein (using an ultrasound, sticking a long tube in my arm). I was okay with the suggestion because I was told it would be less painful for me to receive fluids like potassium, which caused a very painful burning sensation once it entered my veins. One of the nurses seemed to have never performed the procedure because she was being instructed and told when she was making mistakes by the other nurse. I never gave permission to be practiced on like a dummy. The teaching nurse took over once the student nurse could not complete the task after causing hematoma surrounding every vein available in my arm. The process finally stopped after she(THE TEACHING NURSE)hit some tendons/ligaments and a very painful shocking nerve. Parts of my hand went numb for a while. The nurse said “maybe we can try the other arm” and I was like, "ABSOLUTELY NOT"! Two days later I was moved to another room that smelt of piss and thankfully I was able to ask to transfer. The 2nd room was nicer but was still WAY too dirty than any hospital should be. Splatters on the walls, dirty socks and towels in the closet.. the next morning I had a red and swollen hand from an IV that was placed in my hand on the 15th and it was now the 17th. I asked the nurse if it would be okay to replace it and she said she would ask a doctor first. I waited 7 hours in pain before she removed it. I complained to her that it took wayyy too long and she argued that she had 5 other patients to take care of and that’s why it took so long. It took 2 minutes to remove the IV from my hand. The whole day (8am- 4pm I believe) she spent exactly 7-10 mins with me before I got released. In conclusion, I was told that because I was throwing up from a migraine, my electrolytes were low and that is why I had to say in the hospital for 5 days. There are soo many more red flags that had happened that I didn’t mention because this is already turning out to be a novel. Guys please just save yourselves the trauma and read the reviews. I didn’t and so regret it.. oh and the food is a disgusting joke.

Went to the emergency room last night and it was a complete disaster. Entered the emergency room at 8pm didn’t leave until 4am. Know before you go there is NO PRIVACY whatsoever from the moment you walk in until you leave YOU HAVE NO PRIVACY . When you speak to the nurses and doctors (when they decide to finally come see you) its done in PUBLIC IN FRONT OF OTHERS . There is no privacy. There are no curtains no rooms no dividers etc. its just a big space with a BUNCH of chairs side by side. They come and draw your blood while youre sitting in the same chair. Poor doctors had to ask me for help with holding the blood drawing materials because there was no place to put it. When the doctor came to remove my IV .. blood went all over my grey pants because there was legit no space for the doctor to perform the removal. The doctor was good and took care of me after HOURS OF SITTING THERE. But still everything was done in front of everyone. When the doctor came to tell me my results about 5 people were tuned into the conversation. The person next to me was told they had an STD right there in front of everyone. Its terrible. My first and last time coming to this hospital.. I legit had to sit in an uncomfortable chair from the time I walked in til leaving. And when you get up to go to the bathroom you end up losing your chair and having to stand because they keep bringing patients in and tell them to sit in your seat. Literally drop them off and go. While there I also observed a few nurses BAD talk the patients who were there for their mental health. Especially this nurse with blonde hair in a ponytail braid, she kept yelling at them “WE NOT DOING THAT YOU NEED TO STOP I DONT PLAY THAT” a girl came in screaming and apparently cut her wrists (again no privacy) & they sat there and talked about her as if she wasn’t there. Loud and in her face. Few staff on the floor were play fighting yes play fighting and joking around very obnoxious and loud… with the emergency room JAM PACKED with people. EKG is taken behind a curtain in the pediatric emergency waiting room. Which was confusing … all somebody needed to do is pull the curtain and see whats going on Then the Maimonides EMT team very careless and rough. An older woman had to be in her 80s came in on a stretcher and they were moving her to a bed . Omg it was terrible they grabbed that lady up and slammed her onto the other bed. There were not gentle at all . It was just so traumatizing. All I could do was pray. I would never want to see that done to my mom or grandma. My story can go on and on. Im just so shocked and frozen because everyone always told me about this hospital and how great it was. And just hearing so many good reviews out of people’s mouth and to go there and see an experience the opposite was extremely mind blowing. I would never bring my children there or my family. This place is a nightmare and needs help. My anxiety also began to kick in because there were so many people standing next to each other, literally chairs side-by-side the person sitting next to me was going through something extremely serious and the amount of care was terrible.. during the hours that you left to sit on the chair and nobody comes to check up on you.. it was just extremely terrible.

Avoid Maimonides Hospital for Childbirth!! My wife recently gave birth to our child at Maimonides Hospital, and our experience compelled me to share a word of caution. If aspects like hygiene, comfort, and attentive care are important to you, I strongly suggest looking for alternatives to this hospital. Our pregnancy journey was largely guided by the midwives at the Boro Park OB/GYN facilities in Williamsburg. They informed us that the birth would take place at Maimonides. Despite the hospital's poor reviews, we proceeded because other hospitals didn't have better ratings. We deeply regret that decision now!! Our troubles began with my wife developing a high fever after a catheter was inserted to monitor her contractions. When she started feeling unwell and shivering, the staff initially dismissed her symptoms, suggesting she was fabricating them. It was only after she nearly lost consciousness, about 45 minutes later, that they took action to lower her temperature with medication. Unfortunately, by then, it was too late to continue the natural birth process, and a C-section had to be performed to prevent any harm to our baby. The staff mentioned that the fever could have been caused by uterine bacteria, but given our three-day experience with their subpar hygiene practices, I have strong doubts. After the traumatic event, we faced additional issues. We took a private room for my wife's recovery, but the facilities were inadequate. The bathroom was in a terrible state, with water dripping from the ceiling and a used bar of soap in the shower. The room was only 63° Fahrenheit in December, which resulted in my wife getting a fever again. Despite our constant complaints, the staff did not adjust the heating for 24 hours. They eventually informed us that they used a central heating system and could not control the temperature in individual rooms. The nurses had to layer my wife with seven blankets and a winter jacket to ward off the cold. For this unpleasant experience, we were charged $1,050 for the private room!! Their customer care team proved equally disappointing, showing little interest in addressing our complaints. This hospital's handling of our situation was utterly disgraceful, and I hope sharing our experience will help others avoid a similar mistake.

I was in the hospital last year and I got covid twice . I was first discharged to a covid Hotel in Long Island city and that place was horrible the you had to share a room with only a Spanish speaking person then I had chest pains and they brought me to Elmhurst hospital where they discharged me and brought me to lannetts homeless shelter in the Bronx. I had a problem with security they was always searching me because I'm white. And then again in January I got covid and they discharged me to a covid Hotel through dhs hotel bellnord in the Manhattan. I'm not getting all my medications and I'm disgusted. My iv ifotrated. They want to put in a new iv in me. I don't think I need another iv. When I first came here on Saturday my blood pressure was 86/56 and they stopped my coreg 6.25mg 1tab,Clondine 0.1 MG 1tab PO QAm,Carafate for chrones disease 1gram PO QID, Advair Diskus 500/50 mcg 1puff Bid,Incruse Ellipta 62.5 MCG 1Puff Daily QAM, Tourasmide 20MG 1Tab PO OD HS, KLONOPIN 0.5mg 1tab po BID, there giving it to me twice a day at home, I spoke to the stupid Drs and they said to me that all ur home medication will be started up again. I've been here two and three days and three times they keep on saying that I'm medically cleared but my blood pressure is still low a normal BP is 120/80 a normal hr is 80-100 . Don't come to this hospital this hospital has 3stars. They want to discharge me to a homeless shelter which isn't safe. A hospital shouldn't be allowed to discharge any paitent to the hospital. Giselle the nurse has a Attitude and she refuses to give me my coreg for my AFIB. She also threatened me that's she gonna call security. I told her that she's gonna loose her nursing license that she worked so hard for she has a very bad attitude and she shouldn't work here in a hospital taking care of patients. She also didn't give me my KLONOPIN 0.5mg which I have ordered. She's a nurse who is rude and thinks she's better than me. She also said that aren't you supposed to be discharged. The unit I'm on is MB and the room number is 517 Window. The other nurse who I had a problem with is Christine she works days. She worked mon and Tues and also the food comes up cold from the kitchen and I told the dietician that I can't have green leafy vegetables and corn because of my crohnes Disease. This hospital has gotten alot worse the food portions is very small. The case manager is treating me that I'm going to be charged $104,900 for 16days that I've been in the hospital. They didn't even test me for covid since our numbers are going back up. Also they try to wake you up at 12am to do blood pressure. If you sleeping especially its 12am they should leave you alone let you sleep. There supposed to come around and take your menu for the day and they don't only once. THE STUPID CASE MANAGER LIED TO ME AND SAID THAT MY INSURANCE COMPANY WILL NOT COVER YOUR hospital stay . The case manager gave me a letter saying that the hospital is going to change me $5,800 a day from the October 13,2023 on and I spoke to Fedlis and they are covering my hospital stay. The case manager is using a stupid scare tatitic to make me leave to the hospital with no place to go. This hospital is a very bad hospital. The such called Dr's are a bunch of Quacks. I rather dye than come to this hospital. I will be sewing this hospital for medical malpractice and for abusing a paitent. They again without talking to me as the paitent discontinued my coreg .0125mg 1tab BID and now my blood press is 148/85 hr 125. I have AFIB and CHF. It's not a normal blood pressure for someone who weighs 83lbs. I'm gonna sew this hospital for medical malpractice. On Saturday Afternoon The administration and case manager and security guards forced me out of the hospital and the stupid morons didn't even send me to a domestic violence shelter for single men. They didn't give me back my medications. They couldn't find it. They still discharged me having low blood pressure and they never checked my hemoglobin to see what it is. This hospital is the worst...

Please don’t bring your loved ones here! Please save them if you love them. We had really bad experience at Maimonides. My mother came here for a little procedure of 30 mins only. They messed it up all. She went into comma and stayed in hospital critical emergency for 3 weeks. She hardly survived after struggling for weeks in the hospital and months at home. Here is how I would summarize Maimonides. 1- OPD appointment scheduling procedure is good. 2- Day of surgery process before the procedure is good. 3- It all starts from the surgery. The moment patient goes for surgery, you are lost and so is the patient. No place to go to check status (one bad screen on top floor that is just annoyingly poor design). If surgery takes much longer than expected, you will have no idea whats going on. No. directions or updates for relatives. You will be lucky if the surgeon finds one of the relatives after the surgery. If surgeon don’t find you, God helps you. So, hospital doesn’t know about the needs of the attendants during the surgery. 4- No one will inform you when the surgery ends. Rely on your investigation expertise to find that. 5- If you are smart and get lucky and are able to find that surgery is complete, you don’t know what’s next. So, just run everywhere you can and you will figure out. 🤷‍♂️ 6- Patients are taken to recovery room after surgery. Hospital doesn’t tell anything. So, you have to find that surgery room somehow. The one where your patient is. 7- Upon finding recovery room, you would want to know how your patient is doing right? Sorry, you can’t find that. Just pray! 8- The recovery room staff is extremely annoying. You will see anger on their face, loud and clear. 9- If somehow you manage to convince the staff to see your patient in the recovery room, you will find nurses equally angry as rest of the staff. Be as soft and calm as you can be. But they will still hate you. You can tell that from their face. After all, you are in their room to see your patient. 10- If you complain about pain, they will say “we know our job”. I dont have words to explain how bad they treat you. 11- At the end of the surgery which was supposed to take 30 mins but took 5+ hours, my mother was kept in recovery room for another 5+ hours. They said they don’t have a bed to move her. How is that? They even said “her blood pressure and heartbeat is normal so she is just making up about the pain”. What!!? 12- How you will find that your patient is now moved out of recovery room? Pray for that! There is no way to find it. Just run around. Good luck! 13- When the patient is moved out of recovery to the care unit, half of the nurses are arrogant, annoying, having really bad attitude. Few of them are really caring and sweet. They are just few. 14- If your patient is in pain, go talk to the main desk. They will help in the day time ONLY. Do not expect much in the night. I feel sorry for all the patients staying night at Maimonedes and are in pain because, most probably, they won’t address your pain or other needs at night. 15- If in pain at night, you want access to Dr right? Am sorry you can’t. Good luck! Don’t forget to pray! 16- Our Surgeon never came back to check the patient after the surgery. Isn’t it unbelievable? The surgeon came on 3rd day I think and said that “I was busy in planning my wedding”. I have no words to explain the pain of that moment. That was Dr. Ronald Kaleya. I asked him “did surgery went well? Will she recover now?”. His response was “I cannot guarantee. Let’s see”. Unbelievably cruel! 17- On day-3, when mum kept shouting with pain, they did the scan and found that the surgery stitches have leaked in the abdomen and patient is about to hit Sepsis anytime. Sepsis is a almost a grantee that patient will die anytime. I can’t explain those feelings in words. Remember, up until this moment they kept saying that mum is just making that up about pain! 18- They decided to do another emergency surgery. So, the patient who came in for a little 30 mins surgery, was having sepsis, and the 2nd surgery of...

Urgent Call for Media Attention to Rights Violations in Psychiatric Care at Maimonidies Hospital Center**

Dear Media

I am reaching out to expose a deeply troubling experience I endured at Maymooney's Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York, which vividly illustrates severe violations of patient rights and systemic issues within psychiatric care.

My name is Alan Ban, and over a period of seven days, I was wrongfully detained under psychiatric supervision following an incident involving the removal of a surveillance camera that infringed on my privacy. Despite tests confirming my sober and stable condition, I was subjected to unwarranted psychiatric evaluation and held against my will.

Throughout my confinement, I was subjected to degrading treatment, placed under continuous surveillance, and forcibly medicated, despite my explicit refusal and the absence of medical justification. Additionally, I witnessed other patients being physically restrained and forcibly injected with psychotropic drugs by multiple staff members, intended to silence them and induce prolonged sleep. I was warned that I would soon receive the same treatment, which left me in a state of fear and helplessness, unable to protect those around me or myself.

Moreover, the facility conditions were appalling, with a pervasive smell of urine and feces, making it nearly impossible to endure. We were denied access to open windows, fresh air, and sunlight, confined in unventilated rooms that were not only suffocating but also deeply detrimental to our mental and emotional well-being.

Every 15 minutes, our conditions and behavior were scrutinized by oversight authorities. Any sign of dissatisfaction or non-compliance was met with threats, as I was repeatedly told, "You will never leave here if you keep ignoring us." This intense surveillance depended not just on medical assessments but also on the arbitrary judgments of these authorities, further undermining our autonomy and dignity.

Despite being in a sound mental state, I was discouraged from providing emotional support to fellow patients who were visibly in distress. Whenever I attempted to offer comfort or engage in supportive interactions, staff intervened, insisting that patients should only trust doctors, effectively isolating us and prohibiting any form of peer support.

These experiences not only violated our basic human rights but also highlighted a profound lack of empathy and understanding within the psychiatric care system. The dehumanizing conditions and treatment we endured are indicative of a broader issue that necessitates immediate investigation and reform.

I was also denied basic personal rights, including the use of a telephone. This restriction prevented me from contacting my family, including missing the opportunity to wish my son a happy birthday, and from fulfilling my religious needs, such as receiving weekly confession, which is a significant part of my spiritual life.

Furthermore, I am prepared to provide documented evidence, including laboratory blood tests and numerous complaints officially filed with regulatory authorities, to support my claims. These documents are legally sound and available for thorough review.

This ordeal has profoundly impacted me and highlights the urgent need for media scrutiny and public dialogue about the state of psychiatric care, especially concerning the protection of patient rights and the ethical treatment of individuals.

I urge you to consider this story for a detailed report or investigation, as it is imperative that these serious grievances are brought to light to prevent future abuses and ensure that psychiatric facilities adhere to legal and ethical standards.

Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I am looking forward to your...
