Wow and Wow!!!!...😱 I Had a unexpected visit to Trattoria Da Vittorio in Piermont NY...owned and operated by Ridgefields own Victor Lanni and "MY" favorite pitcher back in the glory days ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️ Victor recently opened a 2ND local amazing Italian Trattoria Restaurant.... We were greeted by a lovely hostess as they cleared our table for a party of 8.... We started w a few cocktails at their fully stocked bar, that had a great vibe w home made wine available and the most beautiful imported, directly from Italy, state of the art Pizza oven that is an absolute eye catcher. The wood burning oven was shipped here in parts and professionally installed on site where the super high quality ingredient Pizzas are hand crafted and cooked in approximately 90 seconds or so....this beautiful piece of art- pizza oven adds to the warm ambiance of the entire restaurant....You will see great aged wood beams, soft warm tile and stone, modern mirrors and lighting add a sparkle to this cozy spot... I started w an amazing glass of house blend Red.🍷 absolutely perfect...smooth, flavorful, great legs and fragrant. I enjoyed every sip....my first of 3... Next, 8 rather large men sat down for a fun dinner and what a dinner it was..... Here's how it went down... First some fresh hot pizza bread w the most amazing roasted garlic cloves as a spread....delectible.... Next, anyone for appetizers....sure why not, we started w Zuccini flowers stuffed w ricotta, fried calamari w peppers and some amazing seasonings.. a spoon full or two of Rigatoni carbonara w pancheta i believe for all, just to get a taste..... there was also a great zucchini and eggplant dish, fried artichokes that were simply perfection and I know I'm missing one or two. Next the entrees, I personally chose linguine and baby clams in a white wine sauce, absolutely amazing, but the big hit of the night was the double cut pork chop with sweet and hot peppers. One of the giant carnivores had a beautiful Ribeye steak cooked to perfection in the wood fire pizza oven and to our surprise Victor sent over a massive Tomahawk Ribeye Steak on the house that was sensational..... seasoned perfectly, temperature spot on and the size of this thing was enough for three or four big guys w a few slices to spare. Our server suggested a few bottles of Red which we all enjoyed. All their bottles of wine i believe are only $50 according to their menu...there is also a home made "House Red" wine optuon available i believe for $40 a leiter( don't quote me on that) ...lastly the desert...i had Cannoli dusted with pistachio, a Baba rum pastry thats was to die for was shared by all, it was huge! multiple Tiramisu desserts hit the table and four different flavors of Gelato and of course topped everything off with some Espresso, Cappuccinos w shots of Sambuca. After not being able to eat another bite and barely breathe, we requested a check and to our great surprise, it was more than reasonable. All this food, such high quality ingredients and amazing service was very affordable. Of course Victor visited our table multiple times to check on us and for feedback and to offer us more food and wine, but we had no choice but to decline. We just ate way too much as it was. One of the special dishes that we tried was dark meat chicken parmesan. Let me tell you how moist and flavorful this dish was it may not be for everyone but it definitely worked for me, a must try. Trattoria da Vittorio is only open 3 and 1/2 Weeks and is already firing on all cylinders. They didn't miss a Beat and the place was busy with a great vibe they open each day at 11:30 a.m. and I can't wait to go back for lunch and some of those handcrafted pizzas and an amazing salads that I saw travel past our table. It's the perfect location to over-indulge and then take a nice walk along the Hudson River up in Piermont New York. Another Sensational job by Vittorio. check out his new location in Piermont NY Its a little different vibe then his other spot Lanni's Cucina Verace in Sparkill NY... FANTASTIC !!!!! A MUST TRY...
Read moreHow can I start talking about this place? Google has to make a 10th Star Only For This Restaurant! The exact word would be CHARMING! My apologies for not remembering right now the name of the church waitress holding the cake on the picture but the fact my husband picked the restaurant for my birthday because of the Jazz Music and the Italian Food; that all people who knows me know that both are “my thing”, with her help she made the experience quite amazing; her suggestions, her kindness, even the time she took explaining the whys of her suggestions, because I was not sure what to chose for food as every plate passing beside us looked stunning… We ended going by her suggestion and if it was the best utterly One Of The Best Lasagnas I’ve Eaten in My Whole Life (I repeat myself: I am into Italian food deeply) and we thought it was going to be few for us because when it comes about pastas I could keep eating like nothing, it is never enough pasta for me, never… Now let’s talk about their Pesto! Their Pesto feels like it melts inside of your mouth… QUE DELICIA! But when we finish and we spoke about ordering a second plate we looked to each other and said: THE PLATE WAS DELICIOUS AND ENOUGH SATISFYING! And that got me upset as one of the tables next to us got a Just-Cooked Pizza that only by smelling it I felt like taking a bite! I am Colombian born and raised 🇨🇴… More Colombian than a Cup of Coffee ☕️… And she suggested me to get Expresso Martini 🍸 to Drink; so me being Colombian and you give me Coffee and Mixed With Alcohol! I FELT IN HEAVEN! And the fact the serve it right in front of you! I was like: Okay! This is something you call CLASS! 🎩 So by her suggestion for my dessert they brought a Tiramisu that she told us others customers from around the world had said “Best Tiramisu They’ve Ever Tried”, and God! They were right! And they brought it as shown in the picture singing Happy Birthday to me and for my surprise THE WAITERS ACTUALLY SING 🎵❤️ (I was in a choir and a symphonic orchestra; They Sing Beautifully… It felt like angels)…THE NY VIBES THIS PLACE GIVES, located around the Washington Square Park, the place and the food is so Rustic and Vintage… The made my 32nd Birthday Such an Amazing Experience! Please, Shout Out to La Lanterna! My heart has been stolen! Thank you I felt flattered and delighted! What an outstanding service! Thank you for your kindness and professionalism!
PD: MY HUSBAND AND I WILL BE BACK FOR THE PIZZA! SEE YOU LATER, or should I say… SOON! Sooner than soon! I am craving it already! Cheers!...
Read moreThree friends and I came in with a 6 pm reservation for a Friday night. (They accept ressos for 4 people or more, but you just have to call them). It seemed pretty busy by then already, but our food still came out relatively quickly.
We decided to just order a bunch of things and share:
3-cheese course ($15) - choose any three cheese from the list. We went with the brie, stracchino, and mozzarella di bufala. All were great. You really can't go wrong with a cheese plate
Mesclun Con Anatra Affumicata ($14.50) - warm smoked duck breast with mixed greens in a lemon mustard dressing. This was a nice way to start the meal. I was afraid the smoked duck would be too salty, but it was perfect. The lemon mustard dressing was nice and light - not too mustardy. Even my friend, who doesn't like mustard, said it was good
Pizza con Prosciutto Arrostito ($16) - pizza topped with tomato sauce, ham, mozzarella, basil & EVOO. This was nice and thin (not overly thin) and was the perfect size for four people (one slice each)
Lasagna al Pesto ($15.50) - homemade pasta layered with pesto sauce, bechamel & parmigiano cheese. This was definitely the star of the show. I had never even heard of pesto replacing tomato sauce for lasagna before, so it was a welcomed twist to a classic. It would be pretty heavy for one person, so I'm really glad that we decided to do family-style with all the dishes
We also ordered a bottle of wine, and our total for everything came out to $40 pp. With all that food, I don't think you'd find a better price for the quality elsewhere. Our waiter wasn't that friendly, but then again, I'm not really that friendly either, so it's not a deal-breaker for me. At least he was attentive.
Can't wait...
