I really dont know what it is about this park, it may be the layout, the location, right next to a childrens playground, im not sure...but theres something special about this park. I always feel compelled to stop and sit for a few minutes when walking by. Nice, well aged & manicured trees provide shade to cool off a bit, but are old & tall enough to alliw for a good breeze. I know its not just me, just a week ago i stopped and sat & noticed someone had left thier lunch garbage on a bench across the park, but before i could even stand, another gentleman walked in, saw the garbage and went about cleaning it up & throwing itvaway, before sitting down to eat his own lunch. It’s walled off and therefore often overlooked, but it’s a great place to bring the kids if you’re in the West Village, especially if nearby Minetta Playground is packed.
