My recent experience with NYU Urgent Care located in Bellerose was marred by their rude and unprofessional billing department. Not only did they fail to address a billing issue, but they also made me feel like a criminal simply for inquiring about the matter.
After visiting the urgent care for a sinus infection and providing my insurance information, I believed everything was settled. However, years later, I received a bill for the visit, which was being sent to my old address. Instead of searching for old insurance that I no longer had, I reached out to the billing department to resolve the matter.
Unfortunately, my attempts to rectify the confusion were met with hostility. The billing representatives, Debbie and Susan in the Melville, NY billing department, were exceptionally rude. Despite my polite and calm inquiry, they refused to escalate the call to management and proceeded to raise their voices, talking over me. This behavior was uncalled for and unprofessional, making it difficult to have a productive conversation and find a resolution.
Moreover, their lack of empathy and understanding made the situation even more frustrating. I was trying to address the issue and pay the true bill, which initially amounted to a little over $300. However, to my surprise, the bill had somehow skyrocketed to over $700. Their dismissive and confrontational approach left me feeling like a criminal for simply seeking clarification and resolution.
Overall, my experience with NYU Urgent Care's billing department was extremely disheartening. Their unprofessional conduct and failure to address the issue in a respectful manner were deeply disappointing. I hope that NYU Urgent Care takes immediate action to address the behavior and attitudes within their billing department to ensure that no other patient is made to feel the way I did. I wish I could give a zero for this review, due to the all-around poor service from both the front desk and...
Read moreEverything about this place is a nightmare. This place is very dirty. I went here for the first time after my toddler was bitten on the foot by a family members dog. There was one other person in the waiting room who seemed they maybe had a cold, and my child was bleeding and crying but they took the teenager first. Fine, first come first serve. However, the waiting room had A FIREPLACE ON. It was at least 90 degrees in the waiting room with no ventilation whatsoever. So here we are, otherwise healthy, sitting in this sweltering Petri dish of germs while some woman asks me to fill out a germ infested phreesia pad asking my email address and to take a survey about my experience while my 4 year old is screaming bloody murder. I finally commented on the heat and she went over and turned off the fireplace while I took it upon myself to open the door and let actual cool fresh air into the building so we didn’t get sick. You have to wonder how great of a medical professional the dr there is if they think it’s a good idea turning on a fireplace in the waiting room during one of the worse flu seasons in a decade. After waiting a while for the one doctor that was there we were finally seen in a dingy dirty room with again zero air circulation. The hand soap for the dr by the way was bath and body works vanilla scented “gentle foaming cleanser”. I ended up taking her to her regular pediatrician because I was concerned with the accuracy of the prognosis...
Read moreI have been going to New York Urgent Care for the past 10 years, but I'm moving out of state next month and regrettably will have to find another. I have many medical problems and many times the diagnosis and treatments given by past PCPs did little to improve my condition, but at NY Urgent Care, I could always walk right in (open 7 days per week) without an appointment and after a thorough history, physicals, and testing, the practitioners at NY Urgent Care, would get the correct diagnosis and treatments that quickly improved my condition/illness. They have super fast COVID/FLU testing and always have all needed shots available. I never waited long at all to be seen (compared to other Urgent Care places and my past PCP's). Because of my many medical conditions, If I'm feeling ill or just "off" it's comforting to know that NY Urgent Care will quickly draw your blood or do a quick EKG and treat you right away (I usually have to wait 1 - 2 months to see my PCP) . I've seen at least 3 different doctors here over the years and they all have been friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. I'm going to miss this place a lot. They are...
