I had not planned on writing a review for this park but Google asked me how it was so I figured why not go ahead and do it. I drove a group in a school bus up to the ferry terminal for them to head over into New York City for the day and parked here for a little bit before trying to decide what to do and since Google saw that I was here I guess they wanted my opinion about it. Not being much of a city person at all, it is not the kind of place that I would ever think about visiting just for a relaxing day, although if there were not so many trees looking out over the water it might have been a little bit nicer as you would be able to better see the New York City. Skyline and all the ships passing as well as possibly even being able to see the Statue of Liberty. I had attempted to walk down to the 911 memorial that was about a half mile away but because I have some bad knees after about a quarter mile I gave up and came back and left the area. It was a good spot to pull the bus over to be able to try to see what else was in the area to do while I was waiting to pick up the group which was part of the reason I tried to walk up to the monument but I guess I will find something else to do now instead.

A very beautiful esplanade especially during the summer time. Great location to see 4th of july fireworks. You can even go down to the ocean to do some fishing. There are some great hidden spots. If you continue on walking towards the staten staten ferry, you should definitely visit the 9/11 memorial

Not a bad sliver of outdoor enjoyment. It's not really a park, but more of streetside area with a decent view of boatyards and downtown Manhattan. It's also a great place to catch the sunrise and boat activity.

Although a portion of this area is currently blocked off due to construction, the North Shore Esplanade Park located in the St. George section of Staten Island starts at the North West end of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and the new Empire Outlets and stretches along the Rocky beach via a service road (behind the Richmond County Ballpark where the Staten Island Yankees play) and a broadwalk with several benches placed along the boardwalk. It stretches the entire distance of the ballpark down to the 9-11 Memorial, and the start of what is New Brighton. In the summer, this is a beautiful location to bring the kids for a nice walk or bike ride. Beautiful place to take the dog for a walk, to sit out for a sun tan, or two just enjoy a nice sunny day in...
