M & M Deli Superette — Restaurant in New York

This place is an absolute disgrace. Not only is Max, the “owner” miserable... the place is filthy... and he actually sleeps there more than “works there (if you’d call it work.) His food is absolutely disgusting, on top of his disgusting attitude. He has even physically assaulted me... He turns off the refrigerators & freezers at night and when looking in the see through fridge the cold cuts are not wrapped, and are COMPLETELY DISCOLORED. Even if I were desperate to eat, and was to go there- there, more than likely be a sign on the door saying... “napping”.... I have spoken to over 15 people at this point and they all feel the same way. This place should have been shut down a very long time ago. He over charges and makes up prices as he pleases. He has lost many customers due to his more than poor attitude, as well (if not more than the food which I actually got food poisoning from. Someone needs to rectify the situation. Better yet, this miserable man needs to give it up & move on with this life onto some other venture (hopefully not in anything involving food!) He has actually turned half of the store into his own little “bedroom”... Bottom line is that this place is absolutely filthy. Something must be done about it. If you need to; go check it out yourself. You’d be calling the board of health.

I was thinking about buying milk. I didn't see any milk at the front so I had to look in the back of the store. I checked the expiration date to make sure it's good. Even if they are cheap, they didn't look fresh. I didn't know I was followed by the elderly lady behind the counter until I turned around to leave. And then, I was blocked from leaving by another elderly lady who I saw sitting at the table set up near the counter. Such a weird setting of the store She stood in front of me. I could not pass by. I said excuse me. She moved aside and she kicked me as I existed the store. Very weird setting of the store. Hardly any space at the store. There are 2 tables and chairs by the counter where the strange-looking lady always sit to watch customers coming in and out. They don't care about...

This is a wonderful store, ran by an even more wonderful man. I’ve known Max (the owner) for 10 years now, and he is one of the most accommodating, kind, good-hearted men I’ve ever met. This “Susan,” who left a one star review, has made some really hurtful claims, and it should be known that everything she has said is false. He would never harm anyone, no matter what they did. He holds his store to the same standards that he holds himself to, which are very high. Max looks out for his customers and treats them like family. I cannot stand by while she tries to bring dishonor upon him and all the hard work he has put into his store. Do not hesitate to stop by and grab something to eat. He will treat you with respect and offer...
